I don't normally agree with people when they say Kripp whines too much about RNG ... but he doesn't get to complain about how RNG screwed him for that last game. Kripp got 3 premium removal spells off of Spellslingers (Eviscerate, Deadly Shot and Siphon Soul) in his removal light deck that absolutely carried him to a spot where he'd even have a chance at winning. Meanwhile his opponent gets a shitty tempo spell in Vanish, the worst Mage secret in the game in Spellbender, and an inefficient cycling spell in Call Pet. They were certainly useful for the opponent, but they could have been WAY better. His opponent definitely got lucky with his topdecks (Flamestrike into Razorfen into Flame Lance into Fireball ... change the order of any of those cards and Kripp wins), but Kripp had the "get the perfect Spellslinger card" skill as much as his opponent had the "draw the fireball" skill.
Wundawuzi Forces it into a trade instead of going face and kripp having to use a minion attack to clear it. we know because we have hindsight that face would win, but he made the better play.

Its true college is so expensive because the government guarantees and subsidizes student loans so the university know that if they raise the price they will get paid no matter what but if you take government out of it then the prices will be based off of what most people can afford rather than exorbitant prices
While I see merit in stating that university's are expensive because of how they aren't tied to market forces, I don't know if its necessarily true as in the the States Colleges are hardly subsidized and still cost more then Canadian universities, additionally at around 20k for a 4k degree even the most seemly unemployed degree's reap overall salary benefit in the long term for most individuals, so its way more likely, that given the returns, without government subsidization universities would be even more expensive and would basically shut off anyone below the middle class line or without financial aid from attending.
Then again - When we talk about university college degrees: They couldn't care less about the income from students. Most professors are there mainly because of the science and not so much to teach newbs. Also with more time dedicated to their research, they might get better corp deals - which means more money for them and the university. Your assumption is that they would care to keep their student numbers high to keep the income from that - This may or may not be true. You could argue that less high paying people are a better deal for them - combined with a reduction in diversity of stuff you can study. Biologists are not paid very well - So they cannot afford the high prices for that degree - might as well cut the degres in biology. What probably happens, is that there will be a few investors that take the risk of giving student loans for certain fields that pay high afterwards. Pretty much the same investors that already own some "education" , so they get double the cake. The "you need a good degree or you make no money"-narrative is already ingrained in society - So people will gamble on good education and take those loans. A little brainteaser: There are maybe certain aspects in society that are not "profitable" enough to sustain itsself in the current enviroment, but are desireble to keep for the well-being of a society.
Nah, it's more because this society requires a college degree for just about anything above a minimum wage job (most people can't do skilled trades)...employers cut their training programs in the 80s and 90s in the name of profit, and started requiring degrees in place of of actual experience.

So I'm not entirely bad in ranked standard games. the farthest I was able to go to was rank 3 on ladder, but I completely suck in arena. any tips as to how I can improve my arena experiences? I think the largest problem I have is crafting decks.
Ottawa U's scholarships are pretty scammy btw. They almost always remove it after the first year. The fine print says you essentially have to maintain straight A's.
Meanwhile I'm sitting here in Germany, paying 250€ per semester, which includes tuition, ticket for bus and tram in the whole city and lots of discounts... edit: forgot that I get 500€ each month from the state. I'll have to pay half of that back tho when I'm done studying.

Mainly i learned from experience and by watching other (better) players draft arena decks. Remember to pay attention to your decks curve as well
