Dr. Giggles highlights the trope I hate the most with slasher films: Make every single character a dick to the point where you root for the villain to gut them all. Just kills any illusion of suspense because you don't sit there nervous or worried if they'll make it out alive, but are actively hoping they all bite the dust.
That's arguably an intentional difference between a dramatic horror with suspense and stakes and just a mindless slasher splatterpunk gorefest. Fuck 'em all, they're all terrible people, just let 'em fuckin' die.
Either that, or the films just make them annoying to watch. Like Friday the 13th doesn't have many characters who are actually bad people. But the writing and acting more than achieves the same thing by making every character painful to watch.
The film dr giggles was actually meant to parody the slasher genre satiring how Cheesey camp & corny they are. I'm surprised so people don't grasp this simple fact: it's satire your not meant to take it seriously so the joke is on you

My favorite part of this review is not the hilarious commentary, the incredibly well done editing or the deadpan humor. No, it's that UA-cam's top recommendation over on the side is to buy or rent Dr. Giggles (1992).
If you have the subtitles on (you can judge me), there's a part where Pointless Hub says "...the doctor who..." but the subtitles capitalize it to Doctor Who which made me very happy

I was half-expecting there to be a clown in this film, and to its credit, the titular Dr Giggles has a clownishness about him. Honestly, this feels like the kind of film that would be covered by Pondering Spooky Tapes. I can already hear Mandalore expressing his confused delight at the proceedings.

Watched this for the first time on the Last Drive in hosted by Joe Bob Briggs this past friday and the movie was a total blast!
The idea of horror & comedy combined is something I’ve never seen explored too often outside of the joker.
Check out "Evil Dead II" from some solid horror/comedy; and "Cabin in the Woods", too.
