Jack... Thanks so much for this brillant lesson. I really enjoy the way you start with simple principles in your lesson, and then you build up on to, until the more "outside" at the end. So nothing is scary and out of context. That really creates confidence for the listener of the lesson, because we are never lost, regardless of the level of difficulty. One thing that I would have like to hear (maybe because it's a resolution my ear is attracted to), is when you exit the bridge (C7, Am7), it would sound cool to highlight the minor third of the Am7 (which is a C) and push it a half-step to C# upon coming back to the E-vamp. The c# is the 6th of the E-scale ; which fits in either your dorian or mixolydian view of the E jam, and crates a tension to resolve to the D after ; hence allowing chromatism. Anyway... Thanks for your great lesson. I love your teaching skills and the way you explain your concepts.

Jack, thanks a million for this. Hands down THE best lesson I have ever seen on UA-cam. Just a brilliant break down of what works, and demonstration of what the different options sound like, laced with nuggets like using arpeggios for outlining changes. And all with fantastic tone, and that stunning Ibanez. I have been the lucky owner of a Suhr Classic for almost 20 years, but my first good guitar was an Ibanez, from 1980, so I have a sentimental thing going on, and the AZ 22 fretters are right up my street ... struggling to find a reason to resist after watching this 😁

Thanks Jack - several real gems in there and very helpfully broken down. Cracking variety with the different takes, each one as effortless as the next.

Jack i recently discovered your channel and music and I just want to THANK YOU massively for being a huge inspiration and opening my mind to jazz fusion. Your lesson on intervals got me rethinking my approach to guitar and I feel like I’m making more progress in weeks than I have in years. So thank you, hope you keep the content up!

Two thing - gosh this is a great demonstration. Thank you... I think I’m gonna study this video quite a bit :-) Second, do you have a “tone” video? Or could you say a basic “here’s how my tone is built” comment or video.... I love how the notes sing... thanks for this, wonderful stuff.

@@PeetaPlays Thanks :-) I found those, and they are awesome. I was kind of wondering if it was specifically the Pilini (or another) - I know most of what I’m hearing is how he plays, but for some reason, this particular tones just sounds so good to me. I’m a tone nut like any one, but this just hit all the right qualities for me...

Man. I've been uploading my progress after picking up Electric in 2018. Coming from Prog drumming nearly 27 years I missed music so bad, I picked up guitar instead of return to drums. Aside from keys which I did tinker with prior. I fell in love with Endless River Floyd. Bought black strat and fever of emotional release happened. I've a long way to go...but id love you to check out my recent atmos bluesish stuff. Peace man.
