To address two obvious things: 1) This was filmed in ONE DEGREE January conditions, hence the clothing. 2) Yes, one of the knees in Joe's jeans is ripped. He's not fashionable, just clumsy...
I bought a P5B last year. Absolutely love it. The windscreen rubbers are a £600+ job if you them done and this doesn't even guarantee a watertight car! (don't ask). The interior is Connolly leather but only on the seats, not the door cards or centre console and parcel shelf, they are vinyl as is the head lining. It takes 3 hides to trim the seats if you care! But it is like driving Julia Roberts down the road and you are constantly stopped and waved at by people which is lovely.
Back in the 70s I had a student job working for a local garage/ dealership. I could take the keys to almost any of the stock and so I got to experience an E-Type, a Lancia Zagato, a Triumph Vitesse, a Jensen FF, but the only car I wanted to take home was this same Rover. Beautiful chrome, leather interior, two-tone grey paintwork , and in the glovebox a log book bearing the name of one Matt Busby!
@@edinburgh1578 It’s too long ago for me to remember checking my bank account and nagging my father and we still couldn’t afford it, but yes - less than Jag money. I had a pale yellow Morris Cooper with a black roof and was happy to give some of these cars back.
An old friend of mine owned a P5 and drove it at 110mph all day on the M1 during the late 1960's early 70's without any problems. He tried it in a Triumph 2.5PI and it blew up !
My grandfather had a 3.0. First car I remember going in aged about 3. I sat in front, in the middle, no seatbelt because you could! He sold the car and a Cheltenham caravan for a holiday cottage on the North Yorkshire coast (and a Fiat 500!).
I always like this channel. This motor car is very grand! You have scarf and gloves on....was it very cold in the shed!! TY for sharing this. I found the whole thing very interesting. I just read your post and that explains the winter attire haha.😂 ripped jeans are very fashionable 😂😂...proper rips in both knees though required
In Australia l saw a P5B sell for aud $40000 and the Rover was in very good condition and that is the most l have seen any classic British car sell for sellers are try to sell them for more but they are not selling the only place l have seen classic British cars sell a couple have sold privately for what they are worth or they wanted a quick sale and l saw a Rover 75 sell for aud $1000 and it wasn't a rusty wreck it looked to be in pretty good condition and remember the British pound is worth more than tge Australian dollar
I had a 3 litr in the 80s for 9 years it was a 66 job paid 400 for it spent 8000 on it nice car better than a rolls Royce (not the high cost ) you could (do work fix the brakes ) 500 pounds not say 3000 pounds you can hear the (clock ) (click ) with engine running you carnt hear that in a rolls yes best British car made mrs thatcher and the queen had one ( e n d O f ) ❤
I’m currently trying to decide between a P5 and a Volvo Amazon Estate, but it’s such a tough choice! I just need something practical and comfortable to go on holidays with friends, and the Morris Minor just isn’t cutting it anymore.
I've never seen any Rover car in the flesh, for lack of a better term, Range and Land Rovers yes (both are great lookin garbage) but not a car...however, after watching the Wheelers-Dealers episode with the P5B, it quickly went atop my dream car list, under the '67 Ford Shelby 500, Jensen Interceptor, Triumph Jag, and 1st gen Shelby Cobra 427....🤘🏻🇺🇸

Looks like I bought the right classic.
One of the very last Coupés in Silver Birch over Arden Green 👍
Very nice!
Great job Joe. Love the Zircon Blue colour.
Me too!
It was a beautiful car and much better then the car that replaced it

Loving the exhaust in the engine bay on the 3.0L.😉
Still have a thing for a Coupe in silver.
Great car
I'd like to find one in good condition with left hand drive here in Italy
Good video 👍👍👍👏👏
THIS Rover , was PM Harold Wilson official vehicle.
Have a thing for a Coupe in silver.

My P5 was running badly
"Shit in the carburetor" said the mechanic,
So I did,
Ant it ran worse !!!!!!!

My 1964 P5 auto was never fitted with power stearing from new .
How can Britain go from this in 1963, to utter industrial destitute by 1973?
I think the moral of the story is that if you’re looking at a P5 which is rotten then walk away and buy a Volvo Amazon.
An old friend of mine rallies in a Volvo Amazon. Hefty chunk of car.

Dirty lens? Fire in the shed? Fog?
