Durango is beautiful I lived in Cortez for a couple of years on my grandparents ranch it was awesome we used to go to Durango fishing in elk hunting awesome very good part of my life
We bought some acreage 3 years ago on Lightner Creek Road, we coming back out this spring to meet with our builder. Plan on retiring in two years and moving out! Really looking forward to the move and leave the humidity of western Kentucky!!
My wife and I are originally from the Ozarks of Missouri but moved to just south of Albuquerque last summer. We are planning on moving to Durango in 2026. We are really missing the mountains and the outdoors but want to keep relatively mild winters. We live in a tiny house on wheels and there are 3 Tiny House communities in Durango so there are a few options for us.
Awesome! I grew up in Peralta, NM and went to Los Lunas High. So I know that area really well. Sounds perfect! There are some nice tiny home communities here. 👌🏻
Glad I stumbled upon this vid We have been focused on moving somehere to north/ west CO, but now I will look into Durango area, thanks for a very clear and informative video!
Great video. We live on CR125 just 12 minutes from downtown but up in the pines. I have friends who are contractors, licensed electricians and plumbers who stay quite busy. I built a small campground on our property for family and friends and provide an off grid RV for them on CR125 @Vaquero Ln... If you buy land in the Lake Durango water district be aware water taps are nearly $15K so make sure you have water. Wells are 700 feet deep out here. I noticed on your Animas Valley segment an elevated wood pathway. Where is that located? Just curious if it is public or on the Dalton Ranch golf course?
We are moving to Durango within the next 2 months. Appreciate your videos. So far we are looking about 20 minutes to the east of the city. How much snow do they get out there?
Thanks for reaching out and watching! Anywhere from 30%-100%+ more than in town but shoot me a text or give me a call and I can discuss in more detail though. It really varies based on the specific area as the elevation continually changes... My number is (970)-446-5678.
Before you even think of moving to any place, first rent an Airbnb rental for 3 months to get a feeling of what it will feel like living in that area. Rent in the spring or the fall, not in the summer when it is the best/warmest, and not in the winter when it is the worst/coldest.
Great question! Yes, we have Natural Grocers as well as Nature’s Oasis. They are both awesome health food stores. Let me know if you have any other questions!
Definitely! I’d recommend checking out the series of videos I did with my parents where we discussed what it’s like to retire here. Below is a link- ua-cam.com/video/ICIAn3XT4XE/v-deo.htmlsi=cimfp_-fuE0Hnmtw
You mentioned in your video that you "moved" there to raise your family...can I ask where you moved from? I'm comparing Durango to Bend, OR. Thank you for the great video.
Sure, We lived in Maui for 3 years the Albuquerque, NM for 3 years as I'm originally from that area. GOod to know. If you have any questions feel free to reach out.
Check Grand Junction they have a V A Hospital there. I have been looking into Grand Junction for awhile. But the one thing that I don't like is that the state taxes are wasted on ILLEGAL ALIENS

And really appreciate not everything is perfect, there’s caveats.
Most “review” videos by realtor folks are too positive I think
Really appreciate that feedback! Feel free to suggest videos you would like me to shoot as well and feel free to reach out. @@bravoswede

What month does Durango usually get its first snow ?
Good question and thanks for watching the channel! Around Thanksgiving it will snow- give or take a few weeks.
Don't move to Durango if you do not love the outdoors.
Well said!!
I love exploring and just chilling outside, but there’s not much to explore in a small, flat farm town.
As far as contractors - as the polygamists in Colorado City AZ
