  • In my last video I mounted the motor to the deck. In this one I make all of the electrical connections and make it work.

    Hi, great videos.
    I have the same boat 2019. I'm going to send these to my installers.
    Question : where you put your battery box down below is where my Garmin compass is and the metal will jazz up my North.
    Is yours same place as mine on the port side down below? If so, did you have any issues with your Garmin compass?

      Mine is in the same place. The box is made out of aluminum and is not magnetic. I haven’t seen a difference in how the GPS operates.

      Hi,
      I was wondering if you are opposed to me being able to private message you with questions about our Cobias?
      Thank you for your videos.
      Very useful
      Jim

    What batteries did you use?
    Voltage and Ah?
    I saw you only used 2 for a 36v trolling motor.
    How long have they lasted?

    • @4RibsFishing
      @4RibsFishing  Рік тому

      I have two 50ah 36v batteries in parallel to give me 100ah of 36v. It never runs out. If you run 3 12v batteries in series and one dies you are SOL for the day as you will only have 24v left. Batteries came from Stealth, where I got my Stealth1 charger.

    4:49, that thing looked jam packed. How in the world did you get anything more in there? Are you into woodworking by chance? I saw in one of your shots what looks to be a blast gate for dust extraction.

      Wood and metal. I worked at Pipewelders when I was young, custom marine fab. Now I seem to work more in wood and composite materials. Yes, very tight in that forward compartment now!!

    I’m planning on putting a lithium single battery in the same hatch.
    I have Yamaha helm master and the autopilot compass is in the same hatch.
    Would the batteries in the same hatch create a deviation and affect the compass which would then affect my autopilot from holding a heading.

      Mine is there too. It hasn’t been a problem, but I’m not sure if my 1/8” aluminum battery box is helping, or if the interference issue is just internet superstition.

    Thank you for the video. Why did you choose the stealth 1 over an MK DC3? From looking at the stealth diagram it does not seem like it would equally charge the TM batteries. You would not happen to have a wiring diagram showing the whole system with the charger hooked up. The stealth wiring diagrams are very confusing. I have no shore power as my boat is in a dry stack so I can only use a system that charges off the F300 yamaha. Thank you

      Andrew, I didn’t compare the two. The stealth seemed to do everything I needed and I appreciated Danny Robert’s support and guidance on my install. You should call him. Send me an email and I can respond with the diagram.

    Nice installation, how is your DC charger working out since you didn’t install separate AC charger for the trolling motor batteries

    • @4RibsFishing
      @4RibsFishing  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Sam. I do have a separate AC charger for my 12v system. The stealth 1 takes its power from one of your cranking batteries, so whether you are hooked to shore power, or running the engines, you are charging the TM batteries!

    Beautiful install how is it holding up the 24 volt how many pounds of thrust comes on your 96 Rodan

    • @4RibsFishing
      @4RibsFishing  2 роки тому

      Raymond, the 36v Rhodan has 120lbs of thrust. If you use the manual calibration on setup you will be fine. Auto calibration causes problems. I’m working on a follow up video to show how it’s held up. Stay tuned!!

    Nice clean install how is the Rhodan holding up??

    • @4RibsFishing
      @4RibsFishing  2 роки тому +1

      It has its issues. Apparently the ‘Automatic GPS calibration’ is not to be used. Mine was not holing the calibration. I sent the boards back to Rhodan and they told me they are fine, just use the manual calibration instead.
