- On Feb. 1, 1989, Diana arrived via supersonic Concorde jet in New York for her first official visit without her then-husband Prince Charles. While the visit fueled rumors of the marital woes that eventually ended their marriage, it was her dazzling smile and personality that won over New Yorkers.
During her three-day visit, the 27-year-old princess was greeted by massive crowds that followed her everywhere as she sought to promote trade between the United States and Great Britain. Still, the princess seemed unfazed by the flashing cameras, gamely mingling with the masses.

Diana was a real ; life angel so kind and caring and sadly gone too soon I seen this also in the crown and everyone loved her even one of the tough New York gangs all stopped playing basketball and waved to her and the scene of her hugging the little boy was so heartwarming miss her so much and wish she was still with us I know she’d adore her grandkids and like Catherine but I think in a parole universe she’s now the Queen as she’s still with Charles and their both happy

Ths trip to New York alone without Charles. Shown in the crown episode 4 . Scene where Charles refused to talk to Diana. But Diana insisting on talking. He questioned abt Diana's trip alone to New York WTH anger and jealousy clearly shown on his face. The trip was actually meant business. The British prime minister tried to use Diana's popularity and influence to boost the British trade and for the royalty name too. Can't understand why Charles can't accept the facts that Diana work hard as a royalty for the sake of the country and royal family name. She sacrificed a lot but it goes unnoticed in the eyes of her own husband. Sadly after tremendous torrid sad endurance period without the support from the royal family and injustice done when she had leave the world at young age. Sad tragic moment. I still remember her vividly. She potrayed herself as humble down to earth and approachable to the at any royal duties or functions. I grew up in the 80s but after watching The Crown I had no idea this trip happened or I couldn't remember
I missed this entire few year period due to college. Had no time or energy to follow Diana, but much later I did finally get the chance to catch up with all that I'd missed. And wow did I miss a lot !

As I looked at princess Dianas puctures I reallised there will never ever be a lady as attractive and classy as princess Diana was.she was very young the mother of two s look ns but when dutie called, princess Diana never stood back with excuses. She took her children with all over thei tours. What a wife and descent mother she was. The three most important people in lrincess Dianas live. She loved them she would cry and die for them . These 'irish' americans had no idea what was going on in Northern Ireland. They are hanging on to an Ireland their grandparents or great grandparents knew which is long gone. I'm English. My granddad was Irish from galway. The other side of my family had Irish throughout their ancestry. I'm from the Midlands though. I consider my self English because I was born here and its my culture. But I am probably more Irish than any of them but wouldn't speak about things I know nothing about. Diana was loved by the world. By the Irish too.
Irish immigration to the states is very recent. In the 80’s many of those Irish were only a generation or two American. I guarantee they still had family in the UK. So I wouldn’t presume they didn’t know what was going on.

I really liked the beautiful Princess Diana. I cried at her funeral. I remember the bells that they played at her funeral. They sounded so beautiful. I think she had a heart of gold. Harry takes after his mother in that area. I am glad she visited Harlem. Read her son’s book “Spare”. When Charles cut off Harry’s money, Tyler Perry helped to provide security and housing for the Prince and his family. Prince Harry asked him “why are you helping us”. Tyler Perry said “because of my mother”. Harry said what. Tyler said when your mother visited Harlem my mother was so happy and proud that she did that. After that Princess Diana could do no wrong. If only the British media and Palace could have learned from the beautiful Diana on how they should treat people. They learn NOTHING from Diana life or death. Look how they have treated Meghan Markle. Harry was right the monarchy and the press loss a great opportunity to right many wrongs in there treatment of black people by the way they treated Meghan Markle. They really screwed up and eventually it will kept up with them.
