A fact about the snake scene: The famous scene where Indy has to confront his biggest fear in The Well Of Souls, thousands of hissing, snakes, was a logistical nightmare to arrange. Originally, Spielberg had the idea of using mechanical snakes, but it was decided that they looked too fake, so Spielberg opted for real snakes instead. They ended up using SEVEN THOUSAND live creatures. They started with up to 2,000 snakes and they barely covered the set for a wide shot, so they got way more live creatures to fill it all in. Using legless lizards (what the majority were; they're lizards because they have eyelids, earholes, and can drop their tail), boa constrictors, and pythons. Most were non-venomous, though there were some cobras. A crew member was only bitten on-set by a python.
Also the scene was shot in London and at the end of shooting not all the snakes were accounted for. Now that is why England has snakes in the country.
In one scene you can even make out the glass partition between Indy & the snakes with venom spat on it. Presumably from the snakes not Harrison Ford.
Except when watching the scene I can see fake snakes

@MandRproductions The reason Sallah doesn't have leg printing is because this version of Sallah is supposed to be wearing a Galabeya which is a traditional long ankle length gown worn by men in Egypt. I'm sure for the sake of play-ability, LEGO decided not to use the dress piece for legs for Sallah and just went with minifig legs instead for a simplistic approach.
I think the skull on the sticker with Gali's mask is supposed to be an exo-force robot skull, it's very reminiscent of the design on some of the 2x2 tiles from those OG exo-force sets

It isn't, easiest way to tell is the 2 lines above the "goggles" on the hieroglyphs match up with the gali mask and not with the exoforce.
This set is officially $39.99 and is also the best priced LEGO set of the decade. 🤯
I thought it was $80 because if you scanned the sets barcode at Target it would say $79.99.

I remember getting the original set as a kid, so many things from my childhood including Indiana Jones are coming back, and it's so nice to see. Will definitely be getting this.
I believe the reason why the pillar is two different tile pieces is because it makes the pillar look old and cracked, I understand it looking silly without that frame of reference but with that in mind I think it looks really cool and is a good bit of detail
This sets build is really good, I love the c3-po and r2-d2 stickers, but the $80 price is just ridiculous.
I hate saying this bc I'll get "u broke" replies but, Lego is becoming overly expensive in EVERY aspect. It's honestly getting ridiculous.

The original was my first ever LEGO set, and the fact that this is coming back makes me feel like that 5 year old me in 2008.
The 80 dollar price point seems to be a mistake as it has been listed elsewhere as still being 40
I like that they used the old 'scary mini swings down from the ceiling' trick, it takes me back to playing with set 6036 as a kid :)

I’ve had enough LEGO sets in 20 years to know this is “worth” and will cost more than $39.99. I am an expert in the field. 1. 600 parts. 2. Those 600 parts aren’t DOTS, they’re generally large bricks and such. 3. 4 Minifigs, while not 100% indicative LEGO usually tiers the number of figs in sets. 4. The eye test. It ain’t $40

I know it’s nostalgia, but I prefer the original set. I also like the Skeleton over the mummy, since that was my only skeleton as a kid. But I’ll still probably get this one, it does look nice af.

I love the fact it has a fall function. Definitely picking this up and the fighter plane. Both will be my first Indiana Jones sets. I'm definitely getting some to have as a sealed set too. Hopefully though this will be 40. A lot harder to justify if it's 80
I am disappointed that LEGO did not use the molded sarcophagus pieces from Egypt sets of the past and opted for stickers instead.

I thought what you saw as a reference to space police was actually a head of the Exo force robot. If that is the case, it would truly be an ancient reference.

i love how this indiana jones has gloves on which he rarely does so its very accurate
Definitely gonna do some modifications and use this as a display on the movie shelf. Doing away with some of the play set indicators and finding some substitute snakes to add to fill it out more! Cool set and not too bad at $40

I knew it was the same as the old one. It’s on the box of the other set: I just felt like it’s worth saying because not everyone had 2008 Indy sets.

Sucks the temple of doom set was canceled. Lego had no issues making it before. As a kid it was my favorite of the trilogy. The heart melting scene was awesome.

THE QUALITY IS SO MASSIVELY IMPROVED AND THE LACK OF THE SPINNY MINIFIGURE STAND IS NOT EVEN A ISSUE BECAUSE THE WOODEN TABLE LOOKS SICK

A knob could have been used in place of that lever. It would improve the look of the set as well as keeping the feature obvious

They should have use this same exact satule for the 501st specialist clone trooper battle pack heavy trooper and like change the color or something

When Indy and Sallah go into the Well of Souls as that is where the Ark is only for the Nazis to steal it and they leave Indy and Marion to die in the tomb
