I think I'm going to tie my hair down then Blow dry and lightly press the ponytail so I don't have to keep going over the braid a bajillion times! That is what I almost gave up doing this braid because of! My hair has grown more now but back then- it was too much trying to get my little bunny tail ponytail to work with the braiding hair and blend!

Just use a crochet hook and put the braiding hair under the ponytail you made with your hair.
