When you wear the 'wrong' band shirt at Black Metal shows

- Trying to have a fun and nice evening with friends at the bar while wearing a Black Metal shirt of a certain band can lead to some problems at the entrance.
Inspired by a message I got from one of you guys who faced these kind of issues lately.

How dare you wear a Durbatuluk shirt, that guy owns so many offensive shirts
Once wore a SOAD shirt to a black metal concert just to see how many death stares I would get. An unexpected outcome was that the guy from the merch stand gave me a free t-shirt to cover my inexistent shame.

Political correctness at a black metal show. Shits gone full circle.

I'm in a Black/Death band, but sometimes go out of my way to wear t-shirts of other genres when we play. I wore a Plasmatics shirt at a recent gig, and actually got a few compliments about it lol
I used to often go to black/death metal shows with a Turbonegro shirt and allways got positive comments, only shirt of mine that has gotten some negative coments was of course a Burzum one, damn you Varg and your racist opinions :/
Don’t forget the terrible music
@@heikkijhautanen4576Varg is pretty cool though, neat UA-cam channel too!
i do that aswell when at concerts/festivals haha, usually from industrial hardcore / dark drum n bass artists when im at metal shows... the similar aesthetic doesnt make it look too out of place and ive had a few ppl ask about my PRSPCT hoodie because they liked the design (upside down corrupted, bleeding illuminati eye surrounded by skulls and tombstones, all the good stuff) :D

At the recent Fortress Fest in North Yorkshire there was no fashion police. Two guys actually walked around wearing corpse paint and pink hawaiian shirts all weekend. Everyone else was wearing EVERY BAND EVER on denim patches. See you all there next year.

Unlike some maybe. I don't think you got the pronunciation right. I could be wrong. Mgla means 'fog'. If it's pronounced like Macedonian language which uses the same word it didn't sound correct. I'm curious because of course it could be pronounced differently in Poland and in Macedonia

I guess that is a good time to talk about what happened when i went to school with a Burzum T-shirt.
I went to the yard and there was one of the religion teachers. He is an elderly guy and a christian. He looked at my T-shirt and tried to read it. I helped him a bit and he was like "hey cool shirt". He was probably the last person on the planet whom i have expected to say something good about a Burzum shirt. But i doubt he even knows what its about. I did not tell him. xD
Haha very good story

As a metal front man I'm absolutely tired of the scene getting bogged down by radical ideologists.
In fairness, the nsbm scene isn't exactly new so it's been bogged down by radical ideologists for a long time.
I also think because the music industry, especially in the US, is so hypercapitalistic that buying music and merch is seen as supporting the band and, therefore, whatever the views are of the musicians are.
It basically boils down to "if you give racists/homophobes/feminists/Nazis money, then by extension you are signalling that you tolerate that" which I can understand to some degree, especially from members of marginalised communities.
It definitely feels like US culture seeping outwards, which is textbook US imperialism tbh
@@sVieira151 " "if you give racists/homophobes/feminists/Nazis money, then by extension you are signalling that you tolerate that" which I can understand to some degree, especially from members of marginalised communities. "
No. People should stop whining and trying to police what other people wear or how they express themselves. And being part of a mArGiNaLiZeD cOmMuNiTy doesn't give you this special privilege either.
Just act like a grown up and mind your own business. People who get upset over other people's clothing should be mocked mercilessly until they learn to stop being sensitive snowflakes.
@sVieira151 I mean, if you give racists/homophobes/nazis money and literally advertise them on the front of your chest, you very much do signalise to some degree that you apparently tolerate or even support their shit. I don't really see a flaw in logic with that specific part.
Yeah man, gotta hate nsbm.

What's worse is I see so many people in the cancel culture "dig" bands then freak out because they don't agree with ideologies and can't just separate the art from the artist but read J.K. Rowling.
@@Grim_reviews What's worse is when people go around screaming "bigot" at people they disagree with due to something someone saw on the internet and without any independent thought or thinking of their own. The young(er) generation of today have no critical analytical skills.
