very good response and handling!! but is still surpise me how quick our firefighters in the netherlands are. they have a attack line ready to use in the vehicles so they can attack the fire emediatly when arriving. good job guys!!
First off, this is Japan, not American where u have those big giant fire engine. They will never got Japan narrow streets which is why Japanese fire engine are very small. This however create a problem where it can only support one fire line, which is why we only see one ff fighting the fire. Those that critisise the other ff for not doing anything, what u expect them to do? Jump on the fire? They have the line prepared but there's no water, they have to wait for bigger Fe to arrive. With what limitations they are facing that ff did a great job in trying to contain the fire to shed.
I love the Japanese mini-pumpers. They are well suited to the narrow roads in Japanese towns. But I'm having trouble accepting your point that the pump can only support one hose line. Japanese engineers do amazing things and get impressive results with small mechanics. Surely their pump can supply more than one line? I've seen several fire videos from Japan on UA-cam and, unfortunately, what I see again and again looks like too much discussion, planning and coordination and not enough firefighters taking action with any sense of urgency. I wonder if Japanese firefighters are trained to precisely follow very detailed procedures for each little task they do and this impedes them when faced with a real world, dynamic situation. 🤔
@@squirrel3190 The thing is no matter how amazing Japanese engineer are the size of the tank is fix which means the amount of water and pressure generated will be limited. There's no way a small engine can't compete with the big engine. Yes maybe it can support two line but the pressure will no doubt drop as well
In Denmark, the city of Odense has one of the world's fastest fire departments. They are out of the garage for a maximum of 1 minute around the clock when the alarm sounds. They have water on the fire hoses about 15-20 seconds after they arrive at the fire. They have a minimum of 6000-8000 liters of water with them and can get 10000 liters of water more in 15 minutes.
I suspect that they put the second line in place but didn't charge it until they had a hydrant supply. Looks to me like the second arriving engine stretched a supply line (the yellow one). First crew probably decided to park as close to the fire and quickly attack with what they had in the tank until help arrived.

This is not complicated. First line as fast as possible (primarily on the exposure), second line set for foam to address the obvious flammable liquid fire that is driving the incident. Don't know if they ever got that second line charged, foam or not.
@mohjan85 Not sure what you are getting at, a response in my rural area can take upwards of 15 minutes. Based on what I see of that fire that could have been less than 5 minute response plus the setup time for hoses. That is a good response time. I think in the USA response times in a city is close to 3 to 5 minutes.
It's very easy to judge an edited video, average response times in my rural area are usually above 10 minutes. Looks to me like less than 30 minutes to put out that fire with mostly 1 hose doing the job. Most of the damage was most likely done within the first 5 minutes of the fire starting. After that, it is exposure control with the nearest building being the biggest target.@@TamppoSilakka
