Congratulations Coco! It was not a good match, a lot of double faults but the most important thing is that it was won. Coco vs Badosa match will be interesting 🍿
Too many unforced errors too. I reckon she was trying to create too many winners than just trying to play solidly. I’m so glad she came through. Mental fortitude on 100! She also played the important points fairly well.
Coco isnt yet at the age where she can bounce back and clean up her game the next match when playing this poorly like Sabalenka. Her chances at Badosa are high seeing as Paula has not much form, realistically against top 20 she has no chance, she hasnt beaten top 20 this year (or since Aukland)
@@deusexmachina9776Coco is just cleaning up pay checks thats why she is playing in every tournament she needs to take a slight break and build her strength training and spead execution backhand and push .
I like Coco, she’s a great player with great ground strokes and good capabilities as a defensive and offensive player when the situation calls for one or the other. But it was clear from 2023 that what was already a weak serve was starting to become a major problem. I’m surprised she gets away with it. This is where Sabalenka or Swiatek will really show themselves to have an edge as the seasons go on.
And Rybakina and Osaka. I just gotta believe in this day and time you gotta have a good serve! It doesn't have to be the fastest but my goodness, at least be consistent.
When Coco claimed the first set with 6-1, I believed that she was commonly going to clinch the second set with a similar score but I was dumbfounded with the outcome of the second set bagel. She might have custumarily dissipated her energy on that occassion. Even so, she has managed to tackle this demanding and gruelling combat with her prowess and competency. Whenever Gauff flounders, she chooses to formulate the different types of modalities and approaches on the pitch in order to revive her mobility and motion.
Coco im a huge fan but please you don't always have to play aggressive, you're a great defender, it's okay to be a more defensive player then offensive
That part! Right now she's trying too hard to be the player that she's not. So when everything going her way its a 6-1 for her. But when the unnaturally aspect of the aggressiveness appears she makes way too much fault. She won the us open by playing her game, not even play her best but was ok with the fact that she can win, with what she got, she don't needs to changes her nature!!!. Her loopy forhand with a lot of spin is enough she can move her opponent with it, and make them go back. When she hit her FH hard its at the right hight for the opponent to hit it back with rhythm. Typacally wat she was doing againt Madison keys. Playing this agressive and flat specially on clay i don't understand her coaches direction on that 🤔. I'am at heart a defenser and counterpuncher and my coaches always want me to hit harder hit a winner and when i force myself to do so. I make a lot of unecassery mistakes that i easily avoid with my natural game. Its about finding the right balance, be less defensive only when requires to.
@@wilmtg-carter2796 After US Open she hasnt been able to keep up with other top 5 players. dDefensive players dont win much - the most successful pusher is Halpe who has 2 slams. If Coco wants 2 slam she is doing well, if she wants to break records then she has to be aggressive.
Shhhh shut up and let her play aggressively. She has the potential to win ten slams…she’s not going to do it by pushing. And moving around the way she does at 19 will not be as easy at 27. This is a good transition in her game and her forehand needed that depth and speed to go with the spin. Makes her play more like Iga, which is a good thing because Iga owns the tour right now.
Gauff is a joy to watch when shes on top of her game....but when she's not OMG! It's frustrating to see how many df she makes. I always say either she has the wrong mental coach or still does not have the right mentality to be a winner yet.
Love it when Coco wins but a few comments. She does not play tight enough to put it to the likes of Sabs, Iga and Elena.. She does not hit the corners and lines with sufficient regularity and timed right to beat or wrong foot her opponent. She does not capitalize on her opponents wrong positioning and her shots are therefore not as effective as possible. It boils down to her not thinking in real time and being clinical enough with her shots placements and choices. The openings she creates can sometimes be small but the very best take advantage. Now before detractors get on my case- I am one of her best supporters but would like to see her move up a notch.
For example. Coco hits a perfect deep forehand diagonally, Christian scrambles to return and gets back to the center of the base line, Coco hits the return almost straight to Christian who hits a backhand winner. So Coco created the perfect setup but did not take the advantage. She has to get tighter and think on the run.
I think it was constructive but Coco does lead the H2H against Saba & has the leads win against Ryba in there only meeting kinda hard to say she’s not hanging with them when they’re all kinda all in the same boat only 1 she’s kinda been struggling with is Iga
@@KingWalker9191j Coco leads against Sabalenka because at times when you give Sabalenka enough rope she hangs herself - so a player who returns balls like Coco will cause Aryna to unravel. Iga doesnt have this issue which is why Coco cant beat her. Sabalenka and Rybakina can match Iga at her highest level but Elena doesnt play people with the same intensity she does with Iga. Sabelnka would have a leading head to head against Iga if she had Rybakina's calmness
@@deusexmachina9776 so you’re literally telling me that each time Coco has beaten Ayrna and the only reason she leads the H2H is because Sabalenka hang’s herself so they’re self inflicted losses nothing that Coco is doing over the 4 times that she’s beaten her🤦♂️🤦♂️ so what about when she beats Coco I’m sure Coco does something like takes her foot off the gas & then Sabalenka wins😂🤣
To Gauff defense,Venus managed to have a career with a shaky forehand and shaky second serve. But the difference is, venus was very aggressive every time.
But that's IF you got to that second serve from Venus as that 1st could be clocked at about 125. That's a BIG difference. I don't recall Coco's serve being this off in prior years, so WHAT has happened?! I'm confused!
The way Coco plays is nerve recking. She does not let her opponents fetch balls far. She is always striking the balls not to wear her opponents. However, the opponents that she plays with, their ball strikes go everywhere making her move alot. If she continues to strike balls to her opponent where they don’t need to move much, she will reach a certain age where she won’t be able to quickly move to strike the ball back. However, when you strike balls around towards your opponents, that makes your opponent move, they won’t be able to strike hard balls towards you to force you to move much. In otherwise, you will be conducting offense more. Hopefully l make sense. Consolations Coco
