Good video Rod. In the USA I get Ivermectin from amazon, in the Philippines my wife gets it for me at the local agricultural supply. I'm not extremely sensitive to noise but loud kids playing in the halls would probably be worse than dogs for me. A goldfish or a turtle would probably make good pets for a condo. If I had a rooster in a condo, I would just tell them it's Sunday dinner and today is Tuesday. As for dog poisoning, it could be prep for a burglary, getting rid of your early warning system. As for people letting their dogs roam free, I hold them about the same esteem as people letting infant children run free.
Interesting doco Rod. I had an Aussie mate up north there, complained to the local Barangay Captain about a neighbours constant karaoke disturbing the peace and quiet. Soon after his very large passive dog 'Tiger", came home with a stab wound. Peter had to transport Tiger to Mandaue to be stitched up by a Vet. Stan, a Pom living in Mactan, had his dog, "Prince", poisoned at his residence. Sadly Prince passed away. As a animal person, i have been bitten a couple of times by stray dogs i attempted to pat. I got the rabies shots at that time. Good idea, carrying Pepper Spray, and useful not only for dogs. We both carried high voltage stun guns for the same reason when out walking early mornings or the occasional evening walks. Fortunately never had to use them. Take care Pare.
I too noticed a difference in the services provided by vets when we looked for one for my daughter's cat. When I checked, prices were higher. My wife always came up with lower prices at the same places so, she is the one who always takes the cat in for care.
Have found out that currently you can bring your dog in the cabin of the plane if the dog weighs less than #20 (with diapers maybe). We haven't decided if we will bring our Jack Russell Terrier. Are their breeders in the Philippines for dogs? Would never let our dog run free outside (unless in a fenced yard). Thats crazy. Yeah, with a dog, have thought a lower floor condo may be appropriate so you don't have far to go if you have to take the dog outside. Not sure letting your dog pee in the hallway of a condo would be such a great idea. Informative video. Thank you, Rod...Jim
I’m an expat but in the states right now, I lived in cebu and in Manila, but I did bring my goldendoodle with me !! I’ll tell you the red tape is tough and it was just a hassle because my dog is so big 80# it’s not common in the Philippines and so everyone always was very interested in my dog, but he wasn’t allowed in any mall because they said he was to scary lol… when I took him outside near a tree it’s a concrete jungle no grass lol and I had everything I could do not to have a street dog attack him !! I had 3 street dogs growling and I was doing evey thing I could to get them away!!! I took him on a ferry and he had to be caged, they treated him like an aggressive breed !! And he is just a big teddy bear, we had issues getting him out back to the states due to the rabies issues and bans !! It was more hassle then it’s worth believe me!!! I could tell you so many stories lol we stayed 1 yr in a condo, Filipinos would call about him peeing outside all the time and a security guard asked me if I could let my dog use the bathroom in my condo lol and so I just took the elevator to the parking garage and let him do his business lol…… what would you have done!!! Anyway we bought a condo n Mactan and headed back eventually but unsure if I wanna bring him this time what a nightmare sorry for the long post
@@AmazingPhilippines1 it was especially leaving Philippines we had to stay outside inline in the blazing sun whilst my goldendoodle was in his crate !! I was shocked wait no I wasn’t lol I know the ph and how people are. lol
Speaking of dog and cats I went from about 1mile from south Cebu to carbon market and I actually counted 50 dog laying and walking on streets and the next trip counted about same # of cats .

Thanks Robert. I originally bought iv online, no problem, but now they say to call them. The ag stores do handle it.

I think there are a lot more animal poisonings than make the news Bob.

Good point.
Thanks for the video!
Thanks James.

There are lots of "breeders" but not sure about control of the breeds papers Jim.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Sounds like quite a hassle.

Lots of strays Phillip and many just let their "pets" run during the day.
Some people should absolutely NOT have dogs when they don't care about them in any way.
I agree Anders.
