Great fly, don't know why I didn't comment on it before. I was probably watching from my bed and didn't type. Anyway, it is a good looking one and easily enough tied that you'll not get too upset if you lose one or two. All the best to you and yours. God bless. Sean
Great Fly as always Davie, Funny I just finished listening to a Podcast from orvis on Carp fishing and with the fall around the corner this will be a great fly to Tie and fish, Thanks again and keep up the great work, Jay
Very nice fly Davie! Tell me, do you fly fish for carp? I've been reading about it in 'Trout Fisherman' magazine where Matt Hayes and his chum fly fish for the carp. Looks Exciting... Thanks for posting, ~david
nice fly Davie, i tied a lot of carp flies, and fished a lot of carp. to make your flies last a pit longer i would add a bit of Soft-Tex, or epoxy to form the shell back, and it also makes the fly more realistic. and if you add some color to the epoxy, or Soft-tex it would look even better. Thanks, Mike
Hidaddysealtx, I'm glad you liked the fly, by putting the eyes on the top of the shank and at the front will turn the hook so that it will sit up like a jig hook and fishes really well..The gentleman that I tied this for fishes very close to the bank and targets feeding fish looking for crayfish.. All the very best Davie
As ever a masterclass Davie, I really enjoyed this one. Thank you for sharing your skills.
Carp AKA "fresh water tuna fish" - lots of fun on the fly . thanks for your take on it. Never too many carp flies...
Dave, you're the Bob Ross of fly tying. Keep up the good work!
