Finally, an actual good Noir short on YT. Good acting, great cinematography (I know how hard a zolly shot is, lol) production design, SE. Thank you. Great channel name, btw. :) subbed.
Thanks Julian! We’re really happy with how it turned out. Doing a black and white period piece can easily go the wrong way, but it worked in our favor. Also yeah the sound team is amazing!! 🤘🤘
Some nice touches & nods to old-timey noir. I'll assume the acting was purposely 50s-stilted. LOL "Mike Ghoul," "Holy Sheet Productions," and that weird roman numeral copyright... Maybe 1956 - "the haaad way?"
A lesson in what can be filmed for next to nothing. As the saying goes: " Give me a good script and good editing and the camerawork need only be average."...reat stuff!
All I can say that's the strangest movie I ever I seen some crazy movies but I don't know who directed it but they had to dummies it could have made something else probably a cartoon
I'm 69 years old and consider myself to be a film noir expert. I seen most of them. Under no circumstances would the Lord's name ever be used in vain at this time in film history. The next time you should run your script past someone who has been around the block.
On screen, homosexual romances naturally repulse 95% of men in any era of film, noir or not. I suspect the fraction is lower in female viewers. The repulsion is a natural response, nature, not nurture.
Neither would two men be shown to have a loving relationship or kissing or would there be graphic depictions of violence. This is clearly film noir through a modern lens that adds depth and realism.

So much affection for everyone involved. That upset look on Johnny's face was a masterful touch.

Thanks Sam!
This is really impressive work. I imagine it's hard to make a film like this that doesn't feel almost like parody. Well done!
@@TrailersThroughTime thank you! Yeah it’s really tough to come off the right way. I’m glad someone enjoyed it haha.
Good job y’all. Was cool to see an indie short film pull off the BW Noir vibes 🙏
Shoutout to the sound team too, it worked so well in this 🤌

Por favor, legendas em português, estamos no Brasil...
Amazing! Keep up the great work! What did you use Final Cut, Davinci Resolve or Premiere?
Thank you so much? We used DaVinci for this project. Its been about a year now that we’ve switched to davinci exclusively and we love it!

Thanks for the input! The intention was to ignore the hays code in many regards so as not to be entirely derivative of a time long past.
