Very nice. I like the simple yet elegant look of it. Do you mind sharing how you 'clean up' your soap? I think I'm waiting to long or not using the correct fabric....

I love castile soaps! Great for sensitive skin. I also use castile on my hair from time to time in between using shampoo bars.

Hi Debbie... I never super fat when its a castille soap, but I do discount water, I like to discount about 40 percent water,ONLY for castille will I do that.

@mreinstein48 Castille soap can get very, very hard.. you just need to give it time. I get them to becaome very hard because I discount the water, which gives me a much more concentrated lye solution, then the cooking of it speeds up everything even more, and since there is not much of the water to evaporate, it becomes harder faster.. I hope I made sence. =)

Hi again! I try making cpop soap and it was a disaster!:( well when I pour it, it looked nice but once I put in the oven not good. The next morning there was oil sitting on top. I quite don't understand when I hear you guys talk about water discount. I'm new to making soap so can u please tell me what I did wrong. I would really appreciate it. Thank you! Bianka:)

Did you bought your wooden mold or is it a handmade one? Because I really love the size of your bars and normally the width is about 2 inch, yours about 3....?

  • @canadaverydry

Thank you! I've thought of discounting water in that way... Thank you so much Dani!!

Yes it does, it might not lather like other soaps containing coconut oil and such, but it does lather and its very gentle, it takes longer to cure if you dont cook it, but its well worth the wait! =)

@bibi9699 Hi Bianka! Did you wait for a trace to take place before you poured? Sound like it separated, that can happen for several reasons, lye not calculated properly, soap was not at trace yet, and even the fragrance oil could have made it react that way.. ts hard to tell. Water discount means the lye solution is concentrated because if the recipe calls for 15oz of water you actually cut the water down to maybe 8oz, the soap will harden and cure faster this way, but its also tricky

    Your castille looks amazing Dani.
Weird - your stick blenders & cord look fluorescent blue/purple haha. Has to be the lighting but how strange eh.
The glitter really dresses it up nicely. It looks so creamy & wonderful.

How can this castile bar be so hard without any hard oil such as butters or palm oil????.... It should be soft but it is perfect!!!! How can it be possible? The hot process?

@HeidiMcCann Hi hun, when I said clean it I ment bevel the edges, but I have seen other soapers clean it literaly with a cotton wash cloth, I think if you do this about half hour after cutting it will be just right. =)
