Betcha first time Bubba has to anchor up in a hurry and a strap breaks and he has a coil riding shotgun he'll start using chains!! Cut corners....cut your life short!! Happy Sliver Creek!
Yep I talked to him on my way out.I didn't say anythinknHe told me several times he was just going to San Antonio. LOL good luck getting out of Houston alive with strapped coils.
I work at a rock quarry here in Kansas I load customers win they come in we have lots of grain haulers and they try to use their pressure gauge it never ever has for them I mean ever
I have mine a little off upfront. It's gotta be over 34k before im looking closer.I have wiggle room.Unless the shipper is lying about the weight I can feel good about not being overweight. Our new trailers don't have them.I've found our to be pretty accurate. If you go scale it's usually within couple hundred lbs.I imagine a rock quarry those guys are getting alot more wear and tear than we do.
That sure looks like a freight claim trap. That's why I took pictures of sketchy loads before I left the shipper. I'll bet you cya. Tupelo? Van Morrison had a song called Tupelo Honey that's one of my favorites.
How much pulling angle on those chains you had, couldn't see with tarp. The other driver securing strap through and straight down it won't do much of a securement. He should of X the front with strap that would be better choice.
@@TruckerTrashTammie I do have 1/2 inch chains and did snap with the best care i put into it. Thanks for response 3/8 is my preferred choice for general use.
These we call suicide coils these are suppose to be chained. The amount of chains depends on the grade of our chain.Prime we use 9/16th so DOT says 2 chains. You can add a strap. If you watch bonehead truckers or truckers wall of shame. This is why the guys are on there. They lose these coils all the time.Steel will cut rigjt through a strap.
They had 4 of those coils at the exact weight. We both know 4 coils ain't weighing the same.No choice but to load to be legal. With no scale on site. One thing im not doing is coming back !!!!! Especially on the load that takes me home.I ran good fuel mileage .I beat the fleet average.
Well that was fun...thank you
Be safe an enjoy your day

John Schneider sings about that Tupelo honey too !
The HAND strapping coils loaded suicide is suicide. You couldn’t reject coils with broken bands. Strapping coils LORDy LORDy
They looked like crap.I didn't feel they were unsafe.Prime doesn't force us to do that.
Straps on coils? Is that even legal?
Not in my fmsca handbook
I should say as long as u don't get caught.A TMC rolled his truck today.Threw 2 coils in someones field.Lucky noone was killed.
No boats on SE Regional ? What did 5 coils pay gross w/ FSC & tarp ?
I only get boats when I go through Springfield. Those had my fuel to dh home in there. It was over 2.00 a mile I remember
Do you ever go farther north?
Im headed to Wisconsin now.I moved from OTR to regional. So I stay Southeast mainly
