All my guitars smell of weed 😋 I have them on wall hangers and stands because I like looking at them... And I'm high like 24/7 so not going to step outside all the time to keep my place smoke free... My classical guitar is still in it's case though... Over 20 years old and still smells like a lumber yard
Beautiful guitar...even more beautiful playing...and we all love the looper! I was just reminiscing about how much Michael Lemmo (along with trusty ditto looper and Jen's comedic antics behind the camera) have really transformed GOTD into a new and amazing entity! Thanks so much for bringing a little joy, laughter, awesome instruments, and your phenomenal, inspiring musical talent to our lives!
My father had that exact same guitar , same year and model. He had it from 1952 until he past away in 1989. One of my family members ended up with it and sold it at a pawn shop before I had a chance to get it. I am the oldest child of the family and it was to go to me but that is what happens when some one dies with 7 kids. Oh well that's life.
You played Drake! And made it sound good! Is there anything you cannot play? What is the hardest style for you to play? Do you even read these? Thanks for sharing your diligently earned talent and these fantastic instruments with us.
As always , some mesmerizing playing from Lemmo , on a gorgeous arch top that's over 65 years old , not sure you can actually hear the wood grain , but certainly it's resonance and timbre , a shame they've been discontinued , but that just makes the existing ones even more valuable , well done guys.
Hey mike and of course the master mind behind the this great show Jen that was so sweet the last piece was truly beautiful thanks again for sharing....👍
Hey everybody, it's "Whine-Ass Wednesday", featuring Gibson Guitars...🙊Seriously though, watching Lemmo create musical textures like that is akin to the gods making love...
I have its twin! 1952 also is MY birth year (it was a birthday present from another player). Nothing else really sounds like these beauties - their stripped-down excellence, wonderful simplicity, superb workmanship and straightforward presentation announces "this person can play with taste"...or not. you don't need to be a hot licks showoff - and there's no hiding, no matter how many effects you stick between one and an amp. It still is one of the most tonally-pure, honest electric instruments ever made.
I originally Unsubscribed from this fantastic channel because of the "presenters personality" and the bias. I'm back because of the fun, the skill and expertise. Thanks Norman, for the beautiful range of guitars and the great tunes used to showcase them. Thanks Lemmo for being a fun custodian of musical history.
Love it when Lemmo just starts having fun with the looper and creating music. You should do it liek this everytime. It brings out the best in the instrument and you. Cheers
I don't understand why p90s have this negative image. Not that I get that from you, but I must read at least one comment per day on UA-cam or guitar forums where someone is surprised at how good p90s can sound. They're amazing pickups. Even the modern ones. I suggest you look into getting a guitar with p90s if you don't already have one. I, too, was under the impression that they were somehow inferior until a friend of mine was in a bind and needed to sell his goldtop with p90s. I bought it from him, expecting it to be a backup to my other Les Paul. It became my favourite guitar almost immediately. Anyway, enough rambling. Play p90s and have a good day.
A limitless supply of ideas for melody and rhythm is Lemmo's forte! This gorgeous sounding vintage 175 is the Gibson iconic jazz box with a very distinct tonal center. I love this configuration on this version of the 175, single P90 rosewood bridge and board all maple body Adirondack spruce bracing mahogany neck. Iconic tone and vibe. thanks Michael and Jen, awesome GOTD
I think I need more practice to be authentic lol. Who is the fool behind the Agnesi video. Must have been a tight contract, I don’t think mark would have done that.
This guy could make a 2 by 4 with strings on it sound great. I'd still love a guitar like this anyway. Great fun to watch Michael build his looper tunes. Thanks.

Fender jazz 62 fender jazz for the win... I watch on IG, and comment periodically. I love the direction Lemmo (and Jen) have taken this show... I tune in everyday. the setlist thing got ‘’boring and tired’. New show, new feel, new era for GOTD. @MrRoach I hope you are here for the guitars and great playing of Mr Lemmo. As for FJ, thanks for the kind words, you are a good man with an amazing vintage bass collection.
I have played a few ES 175's and I think they are very versatile guitars. They sound good when you turn them up to rock out and they sound great for funk fusion and of course jazz. I am kinda sad that they are discontinued though. Great playinglemmo! Keep up the good work Jen!

Kid you play those Jazz type chords like the greats of yesteryear! Nice!!!
Great playing as usual, also I felt the looper helped show the pickup sounds on its own compared to when you can hear both the pickup and the acoustic sound of the instrument combined.
man that axe sings. love the Wes Montgomery vibes! I can't believe they discontinued the 175! I got mine in 2012. I guess I better take good care of it.
Great playing as usual, Mike! I dug the Wes tune! Sorry to hear that Gibson’s discontinued the ES-175. I had a ‘62 ES-175D in the mid ‘70s-two humbuckers, great guitar-and I used the bridge pickup for some things too. Neck pickup for jazz, of course, but both for rockabilly and blues, and I even did some country gigs with it on the bridge pickup. Very versatile guitar-I’m sorry I ever got rid of it.
so discontinued for 19,,gibby keeps rollin out the hits.herb ellis, jim hall, pat metheny,,steve howe and a bunch more played either this version or the humbucker version of this jazz workhorse,,great gtrs. so glad gibby gave it the axe whats next the 335,345 ,355,guess they gotta trim the fat, easy now.
Gosh darn it, that is some AUTHENTIC playing!
Right? Hehehe
That was good hahaha, nice one.
Don't know if Gibson will sue you to say AUTHENTIC, maybe they bought the word xD
Aye that was good
Gongasoso I felt so bad for Mark. He really seemed like he hated having to say that stuff. Gibson, unmuzzle Mark!
@@TheChadPad..i see a pattern here with Gibson..i hope to hell they didn't just hire him as a "throw away"..to deliver their message and then.........
Any of the dudes that I ever met that played and old ES 175.. always had the best reefer.
Jazzers are like that...yeah, they are!
I was just thinking about how much second hand smoke that guitar has experienced

Some beautiful playing by Lemmo on a fine guitar, very inspiring. Love the Florentine cutaway.

You Sir are amazing!!!! Mark is forgotten.
I hope norm could give Lemmo this guitar lol....he seems so in love with it .
The amount of original riffs and ideas he comes up with is amazing... the dude's style is untouchable!
I love that the loop kept going as he talked. It was just perfect. Love you Lemmo!
"They don't make 'em like that anymore," now seems ironic.

Jen, I had a bad day, but hearing you laugh helped a lot. Thank you! Michael, love hearing you play the guitar. Peace to both of you. 👍👍✌🏼🙏

Funny...people didn't notice. But yes it did come from a recording studio. Drake is dope.

Just a few seconds into your playing and I'm convinced that's the most beautiful guitar I've ever heard

I love how you coax the music out of this guitar.
Well Lemmo certainly played that Gibson authentically! 💯%
I'd like to hear what Mark really has to say, authentically!
Worth a second watch/listen. Lemmo playing starts about 4:56.

Nice job, Looper Lemmo! That #2 song, jazz playing was phenomenal. Enjoyed!
