Hi. This is outstanding, it does look dreadfully addictive though. I think little shrink shapes would be great as dangling from the ends of bookmarks, attached to notebooks and folders, keychains, etc, the list is endless. Yes, I do think this could be VERY addictive indeed! Thank you so much for sharing this great video and have a fabulous day. 😊
Oh my, I love this. About 25 years ago (!) one of my colleagues (in a school) made keyrings with the kids out of yoghurt pots and crisp packets! She did it in the oven and I’ve always wanted to try! Defo need me a heat tool now! ❤
Sam, totally not craft related but I THOUGHT of you !! I was at an antique mall and there was a booth with beautiful huge rings! I tried some on just for you!
I have shrink paper and forgot how much fun this is. I wonder if you could use a little removable tape to hold it down? This would be fun with SU's Tool set!
HI Sam. Muriel from Washington State. I watched your playlist on "Using your scraps to make cards". I LOVE IT. Can you share where I might find the plastic envelopes you use to house the scraps in? Or are they something you made out of existing envelopes? Please let me know. Thanks,
Thank you, Sam. 🥰 I loved doing this many years back. I used a toaster oven rather than a heat gun but it had the same effect. I might give the heat gun a try. Now I have to go dig out my shrink plastic. I wonder where it got to....
It is important to stamp on the side, you want to be the front,( if there's difference between the sides), especially if you stamp sentiments. Otherwise it comes out mirrored (ask me how I know 😮😄)
You can also pop them in a toaster oven or full size oven for a few seconds and get the s ame results without having to wrestle with the heat gun for each one. I have a dedicated toaster oven and plug it in on the back porch to avoid fumes in the house. i can do 20-40 pieces in about 5 minutes.
I still love using my shrink plastic to make charms. I always have my stamp block on hand to flatten them once I’ve shrunk them. I’ve got some to go through my printer but haven’t had the chance to try it out yet. It’s so satisfying watching it melt 😂xx
Were they called Shrinky Dinks? I think I got mine out of the coco pops box of cereal, back in the day!! I had Tom and Jerry. Coloured them in and popped them in the oven!! Great memories. Thanks Sam xx
I LOVE this Sam! I haven’t used shrink plastic in years! Thanks so much for “refreshing” my memory. I have to try this. As always, love love love your videos and all the inspiration…THANK YOU!😊
Not watched you for a while. Got in a rabbit hole of clean and simple cards. I’m now ready to restart the papercraft art …. Not tried shrink plastic , so I know what my hobby craft voucher will be spent on. Loved how excited you sounded! 🎉
Here's a couple of tips-I use a metal pan so that i can contain it, and I also have a metal spatula to flatten it before it has time to cool. :) I love making these! Amazon US also has black shrink plastic.
Like others, I remember shrinking our crisp packets in the oven. Your stamps and sentiments look so cute, I will have to give this a try. Your laughter and joy in this video has really brightened my mood too, just what I needed, thanks Sam 🥰
Love shrink plastic and use it with the grandkids. I just cut it into rectangles and they draw on the plastic. Then, I shrink them in the oven. Thanks for the video on using it with stamps.
My sister & I made these over 50 years ago & they were so much fun. I can’t wait to try them again. Thank you for the inspiration & I love, love, love hearing you laugh & have so much fun! 😂😂😂😂
I used to LOVE to make things with Shrink Plastic ❤❤ I even got my son into it when he was younger ❤❤ Great Memories!!❤ Thank you for the idea for cards, craft storage and folios ❤❤
I used a rose (my last name is Rose) stamp and made a few of these. I used them as little dangles/charms to put on my good scissors when I went to craft retreats. I always knew where they were.
Y’all can use the oven for these, I shall age myself now, we use to have a blast back in the 70’s with then called "shrink a dinks" some baking sheets on a baking pan (for cookies) and shrink to your hearts content you can make so many at one time, and make your heart so happy to make them. 😂😂😂 Tfs this memorable craft. ❤😊
Because I didn't! I'm in my craft room filming, by all means put them in your oven if you prefer, I remember melting crisp packets that way when i was a kid and making keyrings.
You can use a pancake maker to shrink these. Marian Eberson did it in one of her videos.

I did not know I could use a heat gun! But I might still have an oven from my kids childhoods❤❤😅
I love this! I’m getting ready to go to a Stampin Up gathering. I’m going to try this. Thanks for sharing Sam!

SAM will this work if you die cut them out too, just wondering why you didn’t use the dies xx
Because my shrink plastic cracks when cut, some others may be ok, so like i said in the video, experiment with what you have. 😀
Adorable sam

They are so cute
Thank you !
Why didn’t you just put them in the oven and shrink them all at once?
Because I didn't! I'm in my craft room filming, by all means put them in your oven if you prefer, I remember melting crisp packets that way when i was a kid and making keyrings.
