I notice you went for the blurry speedo upgrade 😉

I have a 2019 Speed Twin and my brakes do not squeal.

break squeal is probably because the pads are cold. considering it has a serious set of Brembo brakes on the bike i wouldn't be surprised that they need to warm up to operating temperature

That's what I thought at first. But it gets worse as they get hotter. It almost reminds me of steel brakes on a track car.

Never had any brake squeal on mine. When your bedding them in during break in, you need to wipe the rotors down after the first few rides. The balance of the bike will improve quite drastically with a rear shock upgrade. If your front brakes are squealing because the rotors are glazed, and your rear shocks offer little to no rebound dampening, any bike is gonna handle poorly. I ride very aggressively most of the time, and with Ktec Razor iii shocks out back, I've learned to shift my weight back some when I know I'm about to jump on the binders. I'm probably near 210 lbs. dressed out on the bike. Something that can help the balance, is to use the rear brake before the front and practice applying them this way when coming into a corner too hot.

You will discover those Rosso 3's are crap when you change them for Pirelli Angel GT 2's. Night and day difference, even in the wet they stick to the road. With those you could even put a knee down in the pouring rain. I am not saying the Rosso 3's are a bad tire, they are just a wrong fit for the Speed Twin.

I just upgraded mine to Road 5s and I also describe it as night and day difference. This bike just came the wrong rubber on it.

I have the 2019 Street Twin which uses the same Brembo calipers on your Speed Twin and everything that ive read says replacing the pads with EBC HH will fix the brake squeel. Im installing mine tonight.

That's good to know! Let me know how it goes.

@@Idagonia the EBC pads completely eliminated brake squeal on my Street Twin. They actually have a better feel too. Highly recommend them.

To cure the brake squeek use Loctite brake quiet, its fairly cheap.

How’s the highway commute on it ?

It's comfortable for what it is. Obviously, you will experience quite a bit of wind directly on you. The sitting position is fine for at least an hour. Two hours you may start getting cramps in the legs.

On my speed twin I did, the throttle spacers (highly recommend this), reverse cones mufflers, tec bike piggy back rear shocks, high performance air filter, better looking adjustable levers, headlight ring, blackened out injector covers, sintered front brake pads. And I agree. The suspension is mediocre for a high priced bike. I'll do the front suspension next.

Hey Jack. Thanks for the tips! I did the throttle spacer and air filter as well. I also took out the air snorkel. It added tons of intake noise.

Thanks for the review! I have the 2019 version of this bike. I love it! I have noticed that the on off throttle response at low speeds seems pretty snatchy. I did put in the little plastic throttle spacers, but I don’t notice that that makes a huge difference. I think this is something I just need to overcome with good use of the clutch, but I wondered if you had any of those issues as well. Thanks!

      @Idagonia  2 роки тому

Hey Martin, I did add the throttle spacer. To be frank, the difference was very slight. I never thought the throttle was snatchy to begin with though. I think you are right, it might be to down to clutch usage.

I have found that when I'm traffic or around town at lower speeds just putting it in rain mode took away enough of that throttle snatch for me.

I have a 2020 and over the winter I put in new progressive springs in the front and lucked into finding the Triumph fork brace that fits these and it's make a world of difference in the how front feels going through turns. I can't say which made the bigger difference as I installed them at the same time but I highly recommend keeping your eye out for that brace to come up for sale second hand since Triumph doesn't make it anymore.

I've been looking for a fork brace for ages. Typical triumph. They discontinue accessories really quickly. Good luck with finding one.
