Much easier then installing the Perrin cold air intake. For the Perrin CIA you have to take the whole front bumper and loosen your radiator support to get it in. Still love my Perrin intake though.
That's not a cold air. Looks more like a short ram because the filter is placed near the top of the engine bay instead of near the bottom wheel where the air is cooler

What did you do about those two gaps, shouldnt the cold air intake be completely sealed off up to the throttle body? Im having doubts now lol. Have you felt any gains?
I still haven't closed up the gaps, I have just been way to busy. As for the power, I have never tested it but by the seat of my pants it sure feels like it gives more power and a less noticeable torque dip. It also sounds way better then stock.
I just got mine and installed it. They added a lip to cover up the front gap in the latest revision. There's also considerably less gap around the tube as well...but still some :) Thanks for the vid - you were right there with me the entire time lol :)
after you installed the new intake, did you notice the car was a little more sluggish in the beginning? if it did, did it resolve it self over time because of the ECU? thanks , great video!!
Installed it... until it warms up a bit there is no trac. control nor can I turn it on and the VSC Sport mode don't work until after it warms up. Also the check engine light came on as well. Like you I left the Resonator on with just that boot covering the hole. Got any ideas of what could be causing my problems?
This is truly odd... I don't know what can be causing this issue. I have disconnected to battery completely to reset the computer but after not running the car for a day the same issues still came back... I have not had any problems like before when I put the CAE on my 2015 tC but am running into this issue with my 2015 FRS. The FRS only has not even 400 miles on it...
Samuel Kraft have you rechecked everything to make sure you do not have a leak somewhere? Make sure your vacuum hose was not pulled loose during the install. Also check on the throttle body coupler. And lastly make sure the O-ring on the MAF was not damaged during the install. All of those would throw a CEL. If it is a small leak, it could seal up after the car is warmed up and fix itself.
Marion D I checked everything out and there was a small leak. The O-ring on the MAF silver color on the front of it which means it was not completely sealed there. I wiped it off and cleaned it up and reset everything once again. No lights came on this time but we shall see come morning when it has sat all night long. Hopefully after seeing this and hopefully addressing this issue this will solve the problem. I want to take this time to say thank you for helping me addressing this issue and hope that the problem is now solved. Thanks again bro.

Marco Dias I did close them up temporarily, but I didn't see or feel any difference so I didn't bother with a permanent install.

After resetting it by pulling the battery cable and running it a few times taking trips through town, it has ran fine for 60k now.

Samuel Kraft you could try using some sort of carb cleaner around those spots while it is cold and running to see what one it is.

What does the sound resonator tube do? What's its propose?
Just adds the rumble of the engine into the passenger compartment w/o adding external rumble for the bystanders to hear.
Do you have to retune the car after you install an intake just to avoid any problems in the near future?
I now have 35k miles and still no problems w/o a tune.
