  • When a pre or post-occupancy evaluation is conducted for a client, we often survey the occupants of that space on their perception of the availability of amenities, how well they are able to focus at their workspace, and other factors that directly pertain to the space they occupy.
This project uses an algorithm to calculate a user’s circulation path within a space to determine their proximity to amenity spaces. By pairing a user’s survey results with the realities of their unique location within the space, we can begin to correlate their perceptions of a space with the physical realities of the space.
For example, we find that employees that sit closer to meeting rooms are more likely to state that they have trouble focusing at their work station. By identifying these correlations, we can refine our survey questions to delve deeper into the issue, and ultimately use this information to inform future design decisions.
