Nice to see stuff from my sort of era. Makes me think I should upload stuff I filmed in the 2005-2008 period but it has the issue of being filmed by a 9-12 year-old
I just discovered when I look at my 5½" phone screen with a magnifying glass it feels like I'm standing there for real. What were those fenced off tracks at Farringdon about?
That was Barbican. They are the old British rail lines to Moorgate. Once Farringdon Thameslink platforms were extended to take 12 car trains the Moorgate branch was shut.
I believe so, i have seen 73 stock on the Picc in service with them open. The newer stock may have a door interlock that prevents them being open when moving though......
The first ones entered service on the Met Line in July 2010 although new trains entering service was slow at the start. I seem to recall they ahd to go back to Derby for mods......
@@richardcoughlan9981 S8 entered in summer 2010 on the metropolitan line. S7 entered service summer 2012 but I forget where her it was on the circle or hammersmith & city line (it wasn’t the district)
As a non Londoner, I think they're a smart looking set. Love the Ds but they were showing their age outside at least and what was with their narrow doors?
When the D Stock was new, LT praised the 4 doors on them as being quicker to unload & load than the R & CO/CP stocks they replaced.... The 'narrow' doors was a reason LT came up with to replace the D Stocks somewhat earlier than needed.....
The C stock had aged well and didn't look that old to me, but the A stock *WAS* showing its age by now
It had been refurbished in the 1990s, the C Stock, it was looking very tired before that
Excellent as always. Loved those days, using Euston Square and the brake dust from circle line trains westinghouse tests hanging in the air.
Yes, wasn't it once each trip around the Circle Line they had to do a Westinghouse?I thought it was Kings Cross they were supposed to use it?.....
Great London Underground video Soi Buakhao, seeing the A and C Stocks takes me back down memory lane.
One would surely be forgiven for thinking this was from the 90s as opposed to 2011, guess some things never change...

Give it a go and see if it's popular...... Maybe edit out anything a bit too far gone to be useable (ie feet or lots of sky) and see.....
I love the C stock, they shouldn't have been replaced, and if so, only partially
They were well past their prime by now even after their refurb ..... And they didn't quite have the looks and charm of the CO/CP or R stocks.......
Do you have any more route learning videos that you posted before? Found those quite interesting.
I've tried to get other lines from my contacts still on the Underground but no joy sadly......
Weird how 2011 is starting to look like 2001.
I really miss the C stock, if im correct there are 3 carriages in preservation
I didn't know that, i wonder where they are?..... I remember them in the 1970s when they were new and shiny silver!
I think the preserved C stock carriages are at the London Transport Museum depot in Acton

Oh right. I find abandoned railway lines fascinating.
The way the stops are edited makes it look as if the passengers had about half a second to get on and off. Like a challenge in a game show
When i was a tube guard, if i was in a hurry, watch out! leap out quick or enjoy the extra ride.....lol
Are drivers still allowed to have the cab door open nowdays?

Was S stock a rare sight at this time?
The first S stock train didn't enter service yet at that time it would have been a year later in 2012.

@@SoiBuakhaoRoutemasterbus I thought the first one entered service on the Met line in 2012? And then the H&C in 2014?

RIP c stock and a stock
When was this recorded
In 2011......
I miss the a and c stocks. The s stock is soulless.
