  • Henry McKenna Single Barrel 10 Year!
“Henry McKenna Single Barrel is the only extra aged Bottled-in-Bond Single Barrel Bourbon. This high proof, Bottled-in-Bond Bourbon was named for Henry McKenna, the Irish immigrant who adapted his family’s whiskey recipe to work the grains he found in Kentucky. Henry McKenna is the longest aged Bottled-in-Bond available today, resting in the barrel through 40 Kentucky seasons. Critics agree that this is perfectly balanced Bourbon.”

I keep hearing Henry McKenna 10 Year BIB is hit or miss, due to being a single barrel. I have 3 different bottles and all are fantastic. 🥃

Just got one today for 49.99 at joe Canal's discount liqours... For the price i couldn't resist. 2 years ago i was paying 57.00 so at that price well yeah!

I was at my Costco today to get a backup of the HH7 before it’s gone and discovered newly stocked the McKenna. The HH7 was 48.99 and the McKenna 49.99. Tried the McKenna and find it to be quite good. I’m going to plan a blind tasting between the two and maybe throw in the Elijah Craig Small Batch as a third. Thanks for your review, and I think I’ll agree. As much as I already like the McKenna there’s a reason I wanted a back up of the Heaven Hill.

I finally saw this one on the shelf recently and I'm glad I'd seen this review. I can get HH7 for $39-42 any day of the week and I tend to like the sweeter notes in bourbons so I'll definitely keep just saving the $20 and get the HH7

Oh! So that means you'll eventually get around to reviewing James E Pepper 1776 bourbon and rye. I'll wait. 😂🤣

I find the Russell ten year good but somewhat underwhelming. The rare breed is better of course the single barrel Russell is better than the ten year but with the extra proof one would expect that. Have never seen the McKenna so can't say anything about it. However I know the Russell single barrel is priced at 64 dollars around me so I'll stay with WT. Enjoy!!

Several years ago I was getting HM 10 yr for $28-$30. I thought it was a nice $30 bourbon. Hard to digest the current $70 price tag.

  • @deankruse4491

Henry McKenna is about $79 in my area.

It's been impossible to find in MD for years. Literally this morning at my local hillbilly liquor store I got 3 bottles! $59 each.

I just picked one up this weekend. Looking forward to trying it over Christmas.

Nice review! Might have to look for these bottles!

    High hopes

  • @DirtyHairy01

I like all the heaven hill products I tried, this one sounds good too! 😋👍

  • @jimbird1985

I finally picked up a bottle. It’s very good juice.

HOLD UP! WAIT A MINUTE!!! I have both the Henry McKenna 10 and the Heaven Hill Bonded 7 year. If they are the same mash bill the nose is muted on the 7yr, more spice and caramel on the 10yr. I had purchased the 7yr after already tasting and then buying a bottle of 10yr McKenna. Not one time did I think... oh this 7yr is just like or similar to 10yr McKenna. So much so that I put my bottle of 7yr in my tucked away in my don't drink it much collection and picked up a backup bottle of McKenna at Costco for 55 bucks!

  • @USARightPatriot1

I found it for near $80. I do want to try but couldn't bring myself to buy it. Thankfully I found 2 Eagle Rare bottles for $55 each.

Nice, love the heaven hill BiB, What other bottled in bond bourbons should I keep an eye out for ?
