Except that after whipping him, Piolet had the ceremonial bowl of water brought out and he WASHED HIS HANDS OF THE AFFAIR. THEN at the cruxifiction the Jewish leaders sent a letter of proclamation to Piolet which he REFUSED TO SIGN when the messenger returned the Jewish leaders at the cross said let his blood be on our heads.
The Jewish authorities could certainly execute anyone according to their religious laws. John the Baptist was executed by a Herod before Jesus' execution, and within a year, Stephen was executed for blasphemy, for proving from Scripture and recent facts that Jesus resurrected from the dead and was indeed the Messiah. James, Bishop of Jerusalem, was also murdered publicly. None of the executioners were punished by the Romans. In the case of Jesus, the chief priests and rabbis simply wanted to keep their hands "clean," because they were afraid of the people, because so many believed or suspected that Jesus was the Messiah. They also wanted the maximum shame for Jesus -- stoning wasn't gruesome enough. He had to be hung on a "tree", to be counted among the cursed ones of God. But only the Romans at that time had that kind of device and other terrible related methods. So they manipulated what to them was a religious offense into a political one: the Messiah is the rightful king of Israel, and therefore the Messiah posed a challenge to Roman rule. Jesus' admission that He is the Messiah played into their evil plans and they used it against Pilate.
@@HistoryGuy247 Jesus they thought that would treaten their power. Seems some people think president Trump will do the same. They tried to kill Trump. Trump can save America. Not our souls.
Amen

Julius Caesar ordered Yeshua’s crucifixion.
Not uncommon.
