Deleting Windows 11 in Recycle Bin

Today I am going to literally recycle Windows 11 using the Windows 11's Recycle Bin. This wasn't intended by Microsoft, but it's possible to trick Windows into trying to delete itself by moving its root into a C:\$Recycle.Bin\S-1-5-21-*-*-*-100?\$R6BYTES folder. What happens when you do it? Watch the video. I literally ran out of textboxes making it.
Still got questions? Don't hesitate, send them to contact@enderman.ch!
Hope you have a great day!

Hey, that "Parameter is incorrect" on restore could be connected with your negative file size because after that dialog is showed the moving progress bar where is showed that INT_MIN value as the remaining files size
No, it's not. Even though it was also my assumption at first. I didn't include this in video, but I tried to restore the folder with positive size, and it also gave me the "incorrect parameter" message.

@@Endermanchwhat IS that "Parameter incorrecta" message?
I had a good feeling someone would ruin my streak
should i be the 100th like?

I started watching you around 1 to 2 years ago, and you're the one who gave me the passion to keep digging into Windows. I just want to say... thank you. Thank you for making these videos.
same shit here
1:44 Something I figured out with sethc is that it has a timeout of about 5 minutes, by with point it gets terminated by winlogon - the process that launched it. And for some reason that also terminates the entire process tree, including the Explorer that you started from it.
Maybe you can bypass it by faking parent process, or injecting DLLs into another process and starting yourself from there
@@reabstractionWhat I did was use a tool and start as injected process under an existing process, so it won't be under winlogon. Problem though is not every process are injectable
Another way to avoid this is through utilman. It doesn't have any timeouts and you can even invoke it inside the UAC "secure desktop"
Have you thought about upgrading Windows from the Recycle Bin directory? Might be a fun project.
6:24 the moment windows 11 was thrown down the $RABBIT hole
It isn't enough to install Windows 11 in the recycle bin, it's so trash, that we need to delete it from recycle bin
lol
what would happen?

You are an inspiration. Take the things that you have and push them to the limits just by observing small details that are technically well known. Thank you for showing us this experiment. Also.. the reference to Dave when the taskmngr wasn't working was just the best
8:02 I don't think Dave Plummer has much influence over how the taskmanager works today as he has written the Win9x version and maybe the first WinNT version of it.
Still funny though XD
The current test is still based on the code that the plumber has written.
Almost everything in the windows built up from the components originally built in the 90s.
The task manager is literally an update to the original code written in 1996. Of course he uses the windows 11’s WinUI controls, but under the hood it’s still the original win32 application.
P.s., Windows 9x did not have the task manager. The consumer division of windows was against the idea of having a task manager. Dave was part of the NT team. But even after task manager proof to be extremely popular with windowsNT, the 9x team, continue to strawberry you refuse to add it to windows 98 and ME.
Task manager became universally available once Windows XP released because the NT team had finally took over both the consumer and the business versions. 😊
May Allah (S.W.T.) guide you and bestow upon you His Blessings; Ameen.
I've been watching you for about 6 years now, and I don't regret ever starting; my interests involving playing with windows gets fueled by you every new video! Keep up the good work, as it never fails to be exceptionally interesting.
So that's how you format your Windows installation correctly

Your videos are a VIBE! Love the daily uploads! ♥
This isn't a tragedy, it's just Windows 11 doing something good for society
Theoretically it should just go “unable to delete as this is currently in use by another program”
lol
you are crazy, and that's why i'm subscribed, keep up the great work!
I love the Recycle Bin character arc!
Oh hey, I just finished watching the installing into recycle bin video and now I see this fresh upload. Nice.
op
Imagine you accidentally empty the recycle bin and you basically lose that entire virtual machine
It feels so good that now everyday when I open UA-cam Enderman uploads a new video
Another day, more ruining windows 11 because it is trash, literally this time. Great video!

Linux distributions are free operating systems. Linux Mint is good for people used to Windows.
I’m pretty sure he uses VMware Workstation Pro on a pretty good computer, and you can get windows ISOs for free
so sad I missed the premiere, it's because enderman was like 5 minutes late and I forgot about it. but yay part 3!!!
When I come back from school I watch your videos, they are fun ❤
8:04 now i'm just despersately searching the comments for someone to point out why taskmgr didnt start
Task Manager could not start since It's the modern more unstable task manager. Dave made the OG Win95-Win7 Task Manager. Which had some cool features, like holding down F5 reloaded the task manager as fast as possible, while the new one is throttled to around once every 10ms or something like that.
me: I've alvays wanted to trash my own system in a most complex way possible. Enderman: not a word more!
Daily uploads!! Thank you so much..Favorite UA-camr ngl

at 4:32 Enderman actually explains the code unlike most youtubers who are like "guys this is how it works if you dont understand u stupid and sucks to be u"
Bro LOVES the recycle bin
The random parts in the file name are indeed random. It can't be a simple hash of file metadata because you can delete multiple files with the same name and modification date. I've also heard anecdotes of Recycle Bin failing when deleting 100k or files which would be in line with name collisions from the RNG.
Coming home from a test to Enderman! Nothing like it!

Domestic pet rabbits are common around me, my parents are vets at one of the few clinics around that sees them. I don't get it, they may be cute but they are so dirty and there are a lot of mean ones.

YES! The 2019 vibes are SO BACK
For something random, I watched one of your videos on my modded "New" Nintendo 3DS XL.
I was wondering, what if you install Windows to your host machine's Recycle Bin and trash it that way?
About System having access to the recycle bins, I remember back in the XP days that if System didn't have access to a file, the defragmenter couldn't access it to defrag it. I don't know if that's still the case now.
It's like shredding windows with windows
I like how Andrew uses almost only geometry dash songs
As someone who Has Been watching this dude for 3 years, i can say that he is the IRL Lester Crest.
hes more like Earnest Jones

I swear he helped develop windows 11
You can make Windows leak some memory contents by changing the NUL terminator in the metadata file to something else.
now we are using the shredder to shred the shredder
At least the command line interface recognizes the many of the same commands of the *nix OS’s. I was always fracking those up (I’d write a script using Linux shell tools on Windows and could never figure out why the hell everything was an error)! My life is so much less confusing now Powershell recognizes both.
If the file on negative value, that that mean the storage will be more?

alternative title: how to properly dispose of windows 11
Another way to have raw access to the recycle bin: use 7-zip's file manager. Run it as administrator, then navigate to the $Recycle.Bin folder, and it's done.
or winrar
@@Xnoob545 WinRAR is pretty bad, though. In today's standards, it flat out shouldn't be used. Just use 7-Zip

What about moving Windows to Recycle Bin and then make a hard/soft link to that Windows in C:?

what would happen if you delete a recycle bin and try to delete a file?
