    I keep looking at this tent and wondered if it was good enough quality to hold up for a year or so. Nice to see that it's actually not too bad. The price is great and I've seen it in a lot of colors. Thanks for the updated video.

    Looks like Naturehike copied some of your upgrades on the latest model. They also made it free standing with another hub at the back so it has 4 pole legs, not 3.

    Thanks for the great videos.
    I got one of these tents on the strength of your recommendation and I am really pleased with it.
    I am not sure how much resistance whipped cord will offer to sideways forces, so I have slipped 50 mm lengths of 12.7 mm x 1.6 mm (1/2" od x 16swg) aluminium over the poles up by the junction. I bevelled the ends to protect the fabric and lightly crimped them with a hammer to keep them in place.
    I am loathe to add the tie-outs as it looks like a really fiddly job, so I'll see how it fares in wind first.

    Like Nature hike, 2 upgrades since this model. Even with the side pull I struggle in high winds. It now seems like they have added an extra pole supporting the side panel. Mine has lasted daily use for 6 months in the Scottish Highlands, going to see if it will last through winter. Slightly anxious, but I ain't got loadsa money to just swap it out. Hi Tacblades (I've forgotten your actual name) I've commented before on how much I enjoy your videos and how much I've learned from them. I just had a question for you, I've recently bought the Cloud UP 2 but the 210T one, Being someone who understands fabrics better than me, in terms of waterproof/resistance, do you think there is a big difference between the 20D and the 210T fabrics?
    I hope you're well and thanks in advance.

    • @TacBlades
      @TacBlades  6 років тому +1

      John James well t is tex and d is denier and 1D = 1T x 9 so 210T = 23D roughly.

      Tac Blades That's great, I didn't know that, thanks. It's interesting that Amazon are saying the 20D is 5000 MM HH and the 210T is 3000. I might just give the 210T a coating of Fabsil gold to be sure.

    • @TacBlades

    I watched both your videos on this tent. They are both very informative and extremely helpful. THANK YOU! Have you seen any photos of the new hub design? Do you think it will solve the problem of the poles breaking, or do you think they will still need to be reinforced? Also, do you have any thoughts on the lighter gray version? Do you think it would hold up, or do you think it would be best to stick with the thicker orange or green models?

      Thanks for thr comments. The new hub and curved top pole think will sort out most of the issues.

      alexander neshev normal sewing machine is fine, its hard to explain, i take and piece of ripstop nylon, sew on a grossgrain loop, then fold all the edges in so no raw edges exposed, sew that to the panel then glue a patch with seamsealer on the inner to reinforce and seal any holes.

    • @TacBlades

      So i would say no to paracord because it stretches a lot when wet and also degrades in the uv of the sun. But if you can find polyester cord its ideal like throwline cord, also check out cub cord.

    Thanks for the review man, I have just finished a 4500 mile journey on my XR400 and my tent was great, but I was not happy as the packed size was about 5cm too long (about 48cm) and this was putting a strain on my small lightweight luggage (So I can ride off-road), it also meant that I could only roll the top of the bag once and although the bag stayed waterproof I would rather be able to roll it 3 times or so. I was wondering in case the tent pole breaks while I am on a bike tour in some foreign country (maybe Japan) ... what is the best thing for me to do? should I head to some blacksmith or someone who can weld the break back or something? what do you suggest.
    I will also lash the pole up as you have done... or at least what ever I understood from the vid. :)

    • @TacBlades
      @TacBlades  8 років тому

      Thanks for watching. After discussion with the supplier they have now changed the hub design and curved the top pole so this might be ok now, lash the ends. If i was travelling a distance i would find some aluminium hollow tube from diy store and take mabe two lengths of 8 inches, that can slide over the existing poles. So if one dies go just slide the tube over and duck tape the ends to hold it. Its bit more tricky if its at the very ends.

    Are there any instructions on to how to put up the tent properly?

    When I fasten the the sides connecting the hook in the inner tent with the outer tent the floor lifts. Is there a construction failure or am I doing it all wrong? Also I noticed that the first pole section on the long pole part got bent. Is this normal?

    • @TacBlades
      @TacBlades  8 років тому

      @bennykanny 8 років тому

    • @TacBlades
      @TacBlades  8 років тому +3

      Open all the straps and pitch with the footprint and outer only. Then when its good take off the outer loosen the straps and add the inner then outer again. It is a tight fit as there is tension on the poles, but it should lay flat on the ground, you can also stake the foot print to the ground.

      I'll have to make the same modification to my tent. I have a newer model with the slightly bent poles so I don't expect the same issue with the poles breaking. Nevertheless, I'll use some tubing to reinforce the ends at the hub. With a couple of simple modifications you get a Big Agnes Fly Creek UL2at 1/4 the price. If the 300g ounce weight difference isn't an issue (few people really care) , I think the Naturehike is a better tent..

      I think it would be small for 2 people it is good for 1 persons. There is a 3 man version which is good for 2 people.

      This is the 2 man version. But with all tents if you want a 2 man buy a 3 man
      Esta es la versión 2 del hombre . Sin embargo, con todas las tiendas de campaña si quiere un hombre 2 comprar un hombre 3

      No problem, the side guy lines are only needed if you are camping in strong winds. Thanks for watching the vids :)

      i prefer a lot lighter weight tents for hiking. Vango are fine but a 2 man for under 1.5kg or under 1kg need to look elsewhere.
