MIB2 navigation SD card CID Lock removal with MIB STD2 Toolbox

- Originally #MIB2 Standard navigation systems have CID-lock which does not allow to use 3rd party SD cards as a navigation database. With MIB STD2 Toolbox you can #patch the configuration file and use any memory card (with any #CID number) as the navigation map source.

This software is experimental. This software can potentially damage your main unit. This software still under development. You are doing everything at your own risk.
❓ How to patch CID Lock
1. With the MIB STD2 Toolbox installed on the unit, place the Toolbox memory card in the SD1 port.
2. Press and hold MENU button for 10 seconds and wait for the Testmode menue to appear on the screen.
3. Go to Green Engineering menu, mib2std_toolbox, customization, navi, Patch navigation config
4. After few seconds patching is done. Exit the green menu.
5. Press and hold volume control knob for 10 seconds to reboot the main unit.
6. After the system restarts safely remove Toolbox SD card and insert 3rd party SD card with navigation files on it.
7. Press NAVI button and check if the 3rd party card is detected as valid navigation database source.
ℹ️ Requirements
Car: VW, Seat, Skoda, (maybe also MAN?).
Hardware: MIB2 STD Technisat/Preh main units with GPS navigation.
Software: 01xx, 02xx, 03xx, or 04xx firmware. 05xx is not supported.
Developer mode needs to be enabled, to enter Green Engineering Menu (GEM). You can do it with VCDS, OBDeleven, or any other VAG diagnostic tool.

I'm using 128GB. I think that all cards in SDXC standard should work.
Do you know any process to copy the original SD card with the CID number or if this works with MIB1?

great video. Can you do some tutorial video how to update/activate maps to 2021/22 in Audi A6 C7 with RMC unit which is very common especially in UK where I live. 90% cars comes with RMC, not many with MiB2 platform.
Right now I don't have access to RMC with navi. But I will put it on my list.

I've been trying to run the delphi all in one activator but everytime I insert the sd I keep getting cannot read sd card slot 1. Any help please I don't think there is a tool box for delphi plus I have developer options enabled on the deck

Thanks for replying MrFix! It said Patch Aborted. I managed to solve the problem by simply introducing the SD card on Unlock mode. Then the patch was successfull.

I found original navi sd card that someone that doesnt use navi is selling on ebay. Can i buy someone else original vw card and just put it in my car?

Never mind, I read that the error is caused by the different CID of the SD card, to remove it I should buy one with a custom CID but since everything works fine as I already said I will leave it like that.
Exactly, this error is just caused by the CID mismatch.
Hi. How to check if my unit is MIB2 STD or Delphi
MIB STD2 PQ / ZR?
Check software train version. If it ends with "T" (for example _0245T) it's Technisat. If it ends with "D" (example 0652D) it's Delphi.

What about systems with mib 2 high? The menu is different.
MIB2 High does not have CID-Lock. You can use any SD card or USB drive for maps update.

I had the same problem and I simply solved it by introducing the SD card in UNLOCK mode. Then it patched.

Most likely will not work, because of the FEC/SWaP code that's in your unit.

MIB2 STD (Discover Media) can not play videos. You can only use CarPlay/AndroidAuto and play videos from other devices on the screen.
Where and how I can download carplay and android auto play I tried Google but nothing works any link or any idea where to get those?

You can look around for software updates for your unit. There are places on the internet where you can get it.
Is there a reason why you want to update the software?
@@mrfixpl I'm in USA and the dealer has a tight hold on updates. I don't want to go to the dealer. My radio disconnects from my phone when hot. Maybe a software update can fix it.
Merci Mrfix !!!!!! J'ai pu installer la dernière version que j'ai téléchargée depuis le site de Volkswagen et installée sur une carte sd avec ta procédure !! La dernière version ne rentre pas dans une carte sd de 16 Go comme les précédentes versions si l'on veut beaucoup de pays autour de le France. Ma version est : 5NA 919866 CK 1910 ECE AS 2023 SHIELD 2016-03 (build 020).
Par contre cela ne fonctionnait pas avec une carte micro sd HC 1 de 32 Go (avec adaptateur), elle ne doit pas être assez rapide où ce n'est pas une vraie classe 10... Et lorsque j'ai installé le fichier maps sur une carte sd xc1 (512 Go) ça a fonctionné !!! Je vais acheter une carte rapide de 32 Go et la mettre dans la voiture au lieu d'une 512 Go qui coûte chère...

J'ai essayé d'enlever toutes les voix et ne laisser que la France mais ça ne rentre pas dans une carte sd 16 Go qui a un volume disponible de 14,8 Go alors j'ai enlevé un des 13 fichiers celui E13 de 217 Mo pour que ça rentre mais la carte de fonctionnait pas, comment enlever un fichier d'un pays qui ne m'intéresse pas pour que ça fonctionne ? Code needs to be generated. But you need to patch the unit first. If device is not patched, it will reject the self-generated code.

Hello, i have a problem. I installed mib2std toolbox and tried to do the cid lock patch (unit is sw0359). But after the restart of the unit the map is not loading, even the original one doesn‘t load. After undoing the patch by backup the original maps are loading. Can you please gibe me a hint, whats going wrong. Thanks.
Update to 0369, update toolbox (if not the newest version now), redo CID patch.

That’s what I thought. Used ones are around $100
Maps are downloadable for free on VW downloadsite.
I know but you can’t use them with non-VW card because of the CID lock.
