    Very nice work. Very effective gear and clean. I have a similar operation in eastern Canada.

    Helluva, a great video brother, Y'all did a fine job scrubbing all that underbrush and saplings. Although she was cutting up some sizeable diameter along the way. A real testament to the quality of the Fecon Unit and, as always, the operator's skill as well. It's like you said, you have to be smart and not rough up the tool aggressively. Treat it right and maintain it; she'll keep making ya money for years to come! Y'all be safe out there, and God Bless!

    You really transformed that property.
    That last mulching pass is important. My neighbour kindly used a larger version of your slasher/mulcher on my property. He didn't mulch it right down and two years later I still have areas I can't mow properly.
    On a safety note, I found a splinter of wood embedded a good 20mm into a hardwood fencepost near where he was working!

    Thanks for all your footage from an Australian hillbilly. I went and bought a 6ton excavator with 100lpm aux flow and 250bar hydraulics to run a mulching head made here is Australia.

    How doe it handle bamboo (old growth or new growth) I’m considering purchasing this on my komatsu...possibly see if i can switch it back forth on the dingo for small tight spots ... I read that they make a few adapter plates. Any thoughts would appreciate...great time laps shots...tks,Troy

    • @DigginLife21
      @DigginLife21  4 роки тому +1

      It turns bamboo into tooth picks. Still have to dig the rhizomes out to truly get rid of it though.

    Hey mate just wondering are those swinging hammer or fixed cutting teeth? Looking at a similar size setup here in New Zealand but can’t decide between the two. Swinging has more give when you hit things but apparently not as good at mulching the bigger wood and fixed is better for mulching larger wood but doesn’t mulch as fine on the smaller vine/bushy stuff... thoughts??

    If you were going to clear land and the plant grass would you use the mulched or pull the trees and stumps out with the bucket and thumb? If you mulched, what would you clean up the chips and branches etc before planting? Love your videos man, thanks for the help!

    • @DigginLife21
      @DigginLife21  4 роки тому

      Chris Fiondella to clear for grass I would definitely just use bucket to pull everything and burn or haul out. If I did mulch just rake ground with bucket teeth

      DigginLife21 awesome, thanks for the quick reply! Trying to expand my bussiness up here and just want to have an idea of what I’m getting in to. I’m looking at 5-8ton machines. In that size would you prefer an excavator or a skid steer for mulching? Thanks again!

    Thanks for taking your time to share with us just starting or consider getting a mulching head. You’re good at what you’re doing and appreciate your opinion. Have a cat 305.5 and just got a cat 305. Am considering getting a fmx 36. What is weight,flow and hp on your machine please ,and do you think would be a good match.
    God’s blessings to you, and thank you

      My machine weighs 20k pounds. I’ve got it set at roughly 30 gpm. I’m not very familiar with Cat machines. In hindsight I would’ve been better off just getting a mowing deck

    Great video! I'm looking at buying your same setup now and watching your video helps me decide. I hope you're happy with the Yanmar VIO80 and the Fecon 36. Let me know if I'm making the right buying decision? You got any problems or would do anything different? I would appreciate any help. Thanks and keep making good videos. I do wish I could hear your voice better without the machine over ridding your voice. You can get an external mic and pin it to your shirt in the front.

      It’s a decent setup for doing smaller stuff. Anything over 4 inches is time consuming

    Quick question. I just had them set up my FMX36. When activating the unit, should I have to hold the activation button down the whole time or be able to push the button once and the unit spins up and stays spinning? The shop I used set it up to where I have to hold down the button. Is that correct? Thanks in advance.

    • @DigginLife21
      @DigginLife21  3 роки тому

      On mine you hold the thumb switch to the left and while holding press the index finger button on the same joystick and it will keep the flow on after you release

    Was looking at the Fecon today. Do you need any specially hardened glass on the front as you need on the skid steer version? I like the thought of the excavator version for getting slopes and places that are harder to maneuver a skid steer.

    • @DigginLife21
      @DigginLife21  4 роки тому +2

      My Tractor Guy it’s not a bad idea to do some kind of safety guard but I’ve not really needed one. Excavator it’s better on slopes but skidsteers have a lot better production on flat areas.

    I've been watching you for awhile, love your work. I have a vio80 also. Do you ever regret going with the fecon fmx36 over the 50? I was going to buy a mulching head for my ASV 120 skidsteer but found that the fmx36 is significantly cheaper, but didn't know if I should spend the extra for the 50 model. What do you think?

    Are you satisficed with the Yanmar and Fecon combination or would you go a different route if you did it all over again?

    • @DigginLife21
      @DigginLife21  4 роки тому +1

      It’s a pretty good combination for material five inches and under. Anything more it would need to be a higher hp setup
