There might be a way to make a longer turn version, I'm not sure but does murmur elemental & the battlecry quest stack with shudderblock?

Hey lad! It can't improve too much over this, but when I had workshopped the longest possible Shudderwock to torture opponents with, I found that Joust battlecries take a damn long time to trigger. Throwing a single card like Armored Warhorse in there can extend your turn by over a minute!

I think the opponent quit the game years ago because whenever he logged on, this turn was still happening.
I mean technically this combo could have been done 6 years ago it only requires cards from the witchwood era.

Reminds me of one of my favorite decks that I made. Called it hostage shaman. Basically just about playing as many tech cards as possible to make it so the opponent only ever was able to press concede or end turn. Making all minions and spells in their hand too expensive to play, locking their board, freezing their hero, overloading them just in case they had a hero card, filling my deck and giving them armor.
You didn't invent Hostage Shaman.

Val'anyr already has OTK potential with Shudder.
Eventually you get such massive Shudders that the ones you have on board can punch face for like 500 damage each.
I put Saboteur in this deck instead of a second freeze and the hero power costed 107 mana for them to use. Bye bye raza priest :)
lots of fun but rarely... in wild it's nearly impossible to get off any long term decks now
Very fun deck, but I found that playing the Jepetto kind of screws the Shudderwocks later on

Since they nerfed the mage quest for similar un-interactivity, do you think they might nerf shudder too? Also, I would love to see you play some updated Hooktusk in wild!
Shudder nerf is horribly overdue
Probably not very soon since they consider it an "iconic deck from the past" as seen in Harth Stonebrew, but it should definitely have once per game like Time Warp.
@@sunbleachedangel Shudder is very different to quest mage. Unlike quest mage shudder has to spend the entire game playing for board control. Then has a combo that players are free to leave if they don't want to watch the animation.
Quest mage has a deck full of stall cards (like upto 3-4 copies of ice block) and generally doesn't play anything to interact with. Also the combo isn't always over after the quest so players are incentivised to stay and watch themselves loose for multiple turns.
Theoretically, you can play Living Dragonbreath and then you can continue to use minions even during Hostage Shaman shenans. You're also able to Rat/Mutanus/Theo/Patchwerk Grumble or Shudder and instantly prevent the combo.
Mage quest there was literally nothing you could do when your opponent is taking infinite turns.
@@sunbleachedangel imo Shudder isn't the problem, the debilitating battlecries it repeats are. Freezing the opponent's board *for one turn*, increasing their spell cost by 5 *for one turn*, yanking/eating a minion in their hand *once per game* is fine. It's that Shudder does all of these insane effects again, when they should, imo, be one-offs. Cards with huge swing battlecries like Mutanas should have a built-in cap of 1 or 2 maximum triggers, as should Loatheb, Boompistol Bully (Loatheb except battlecries instead of spells), Snowfall Guardian, etc.
Things like Armor Vendor, Acidic Ooze, and >90% of other battlecries are completely fine being repeated endlessly, because they don't lock the opponent out of the game outright. On the other hand, increasing the cost of cards to become unplayable, forcibly boardlocking the opponent for several turns in a row, and deleting cards from their hand *does* prevent interactivity, which I can totally see justification for tuning down.
It's kind of the same - again, in my view - as Grand Magister Rommath: He's completely fine at recasting all spells, as long as the insane, abusive, and uninteractive ones like Take An Extra Turn don't happen an extra time.
But then again, I play Shudder with zero hand/mana disruption, Armor Vendor without Platebreaker, and Griftah and Millhouse so they can play free spells before we hit the turn limit, so I'm not really the target demographic of "sentiment outlier" lol

I know that a little of hosting from time to time is fun and harmless.
But each time I think more that they should add "Once per game" to Shudderwock's Battlecry, is not like if repeat all your Battlecries once with only 1 card wasn't already crazy strong. but also in a design perspective, it dosn't looks good having a card that can break the game, on some many ways, so consistently.
To me it's the same that with pre-nerf Quest Mage, that depending on the deck I'm playing, as soon as I realize that my opponent is playing Shudderwock, I give up because I know I have no way of winning before the loop starts.

And how would that work if one player has animations on but the other has them off? Like in this example, if Dane's opponent turned off the anims but Dane kept them on, how would it help the opponent? Would he get to play his turn without Dane seeing what he's doing? Potentially die randomly at the end of his turn if the opponent found a way to kill him or prevent future combos while Dane was still watching animations? Your "suggestion" makes no sense. Typical keyboard warrior who thinks they understand coding and game design better than professionals. Sit down, lad.
@@youdyed They could do what PUBG does with its matchmaking. You can choose to play 1st person or 3rd person view, and to avoid unfair conditions, you choose your preferred view before entering a match and the game matches you with players with the same view as you. Hearthstone could match players according to their animation choices.
