RK Narayan ....just a passing mention ?
My love for India writing began with "Swami and friends". Then I read all his books. Then I came to know his brother was RK Laxman the great cartoonist. Thats how my journey into Indian English literature began.....🙂

Ouch!! That Bhagat comment would've hurt some fans 😂. I'm not a fan/hater either but you cannot imagine how many readers he has created. I personally know about five including me that are now 'veteran readers' just because of his very very easy writing style and of course his immersive stories (for beginners). I still suggest beginners to start with Revolution 2020. At this stage I'd say his books are not good, but I'll always respect him for making me and probably thousands of others, a reader. Peace ☮️.
