He always comes across like the guy you know who works at the supermarket. Just kills me though to know that, in addition to being a world-class singer, songwriter, guitar player...he's also a scratch golfer. Like when God was making humans and it got to the talent module, the lever got stuck when Vince came along.
What a class act, down to earth guy. The world needs more Vince Gill's. Not only as an artist, but as a genuinely good person and human being. Those guitars could not have a better home. I noticed the pine colored, I believe they called it knotty pine, Gretsch beside the red Gretch. I have my dad's 1954 Gretsch Round Up with the big G brand, and the steer head up by the tuners, and the steer and cactus inlay on the frets, that is that color. All orginal from the hand designed leather strap with the rinestones, to the original pickups, knobs and pots, down to the tweed hard case. He bought it brand new in 1954 when he was 19 years old. If I remember correctly, he said he paid like around $329.00 for it. That was a lotta money for a 19 year old to spend on a guitar back then. There are a lot of memories in that guitar. It's still in beautiful condition except for where his belt buckle scratched the back side. I was going to have it redone, but the guy I talked to about doing it said don't. Leave it the way it is. It's part of the character of the guitar. And so it is.
We have many artists in this world but there is only 1 Vince Gill. His heart for others far outweighs his God given gift of artistry. He is truly a gift to all who have been blessed to meet or know him. Thank you Vince for making our world a little better. May your music live on forever!
Vince is one of a kind. I have not had the pleasure of being in the GUITAR LOT!! But Only problem is they're not forsake!! But my cloves friends and some of my Dad's friends to know him well! Love to hangout sometime and just hear the GUITARS journey! Much respect and Glad U & Paul F Know each other thanks and God Bless Vince,,,
This collection is insane!!! If I had the money I would see myself having nearly the same guitar types., All those vintage Martins, blackguard teles. 50s gibsons. Nice strats too if you like that kind of thing :). That room would be a blast!
Those early 1970’s Guilds are the best!!! My best acoustic is a 1972 F50M and I’ve got 2 Martins both late 70’s a dbl OO and a D28 still the Guild is my preference by a pretty good margin! It would definitely be the one a grabbed first if my house was on fire!
Funny bout folks. My Dad bought me my first guitar. I still have it and would never give up that memory. It was in 1962..my little Gibson. It called it a Spanish guitar. (Acoustic). Paid $40 in a pawn shop. Value is now over $3,000. Thanks Pop
Vince you got all the cool guitars! I love Martin guitars and fenders I'd love to be able to play just one of yours. I'm just a working man from Charlottesville Virginia. I've got one Martin and I had to barter for that one. I'm a contractor. One of the many things the Lord blessed me with was the ability to work with my hands. If you ever need an addition or anything fixed look me up. Lol!! Keep getting er done Vince!
Always wanted to play like Chet. Give my left leg just to play like that. You guitar pickers always sound so wild. I've wanted to be one every since I was a child. Daddy's flattop in the night , Always made mama's face light, When he played old melodies so low and sweet. I knew that his pickin' was sweepin' her off o' her feet. I tried and I tried 'til my fingers cried. thousand chords I had a good teacher-patient and kind, But guitar pickers are a whole different tribe.
First, Vince is a great guy and his collection is very amazing. What I see with vintage Instruments now is, the prices are soaring. Way out of the way of middle class and upper middle class individuals. I'm a capitalist, so that's fine. The biggest thing that I regret is not buying back in the 80s lol. Everybody has stories like that. I remember when a Loar mandolin was about $30,000. I thought that was just insane lol. I think the thing to buy now are 1950s Martins that are in excellent shape. You can still get those at attainable prices. Maybe start buying early 1980s to mid 1980s fender electric guitars. Those are easily attainable. But they made them so well back then. I think some of those guitars they made in the 80s pass as custom shop Guitars now.
I’m in the process of getting rid of my collection. Can’t play them all, won’t be able to bring any with me. They need to go where they can all be used and not just hanging up.
Material possessions (even guitars) can't come with you. They deserve to played and not wait in line. I cut down from over 50 to to 15. Now it's time to whittle it down to seven. That's enough 'paint brushes' for me for the time being. It's nice to connect with one or two..or three guitars. It ain't fair for the other ones to wait.
same here. collecting turned out to be more work and expense than I would have imagined. hard to figure out which ones to let go though. and yes (before someone mocks me), I realize that isn't a real problem.
Nice to see a musician who spends his money wisely. The older a guitar gets the more valuable it gets, depending on condition of course. Very wise investment
I LOVE Vince Gill - BUT I always been of the opinion that truly great guitars (or whatever instrument) should be played, not just dis- played (or packed away, or in a vault, or whatever). Just imho.
Shit! He's got about a dozen Broadcasters! That must be the largest private collection of Broadcasters in the world! They only made those for a year before changing the name to Telecaster.

Vince is a class act.
These guitars are being cared for by a working musician and a kind sole. They are in the right hands.
Vince is such a great guy. So cool that I get to live just up the street from him.

Bet he’s a great neighbor. Amy and Vince. ♥️💙
He is a great guy, and I love the story he told. He just doesn’t own them as things he’s a curator of them.
That’s a sick Martin collection. Priceless. They couldn’t have a better steward than Vince Gill.

He's my hero. Awesome. Peck
Awesome collection, Vince! I hope to one day have some prized guitars like that. My best one so far is a '73 Guild 12-string.

Oh dude! Nice room. Rock on! Gotta get Mark and Gibson over there to hear more stories.
I'm sorry I can only hit the like button once. Love this content..and that room!
I would love to see/hear a RR on Zakk and Rex with Pantera. I may be alone on that island.

And people get mad at me for having 1,000 bottles of bourbon bunkered.
There's a guy I could hang out with -nobody really understands Guitar Acquisition Syndrome like another sufferer.
