혁명의 수뇌부 결사옹위하리라 (革命의 首腦部 決死擁衛하리라), Defend the Headquarters of Revolution. This is probably one of the classics of North Korean military propaganda songs. One of the few good Soviet things Kim Dynasty actually managed to adopt for Korea is the music. Of the handful of countries that carried down the torch of Soviet music, I'd say N. Korea has the brightest fire--even better than China. This is quite a famous song and the chances are you've already heard it somewhere else on UA-cam, but by the looks of it there's no English subtitled version out there yet so I just went ahead and made this video. Seriously if you just somehow wanna listen to one North Korean song, this one is it.

Even in Soviet style, DPRK songs have distinctly Korean flavour in it. I can't point out what technically, but I can always tell even before listening to the language.
Sino-Korean communist music, for a large part, isn't melancholy. Though soviet music is epic, a lot of it is really melancholy when you peel away the mask of trumpets and drums. But Sino-Korean communist music has a somewhat happy undertone. Sino-Korean communist music, especially Korean, uses notes in a way that is reminiscent of the traditional North East Asian pentatonic scale style of music. I'm not a music expert and I'm not using proper music words, but this is a main difference between the two.
@@yiyi3926 Ya right, I'm Chinese and actually Chinese revolution music have more happy, jubilant features whereas Korean more majestic. Both of us are not actually like the Soviet ones which are melancholy.
