YT Algorhythem put you on my radar today, you got a new sub. I stopped messing with ballast a few years ago when some of the ballast paid only half of scrap shred and some paid only 2 cents more. I smiled at the guy and he asked if the lower price made me happy, and I said, 'Yep, this means that you get to separate it from now on because I'm not gonna mess with it.'
Hello I’m from the Pittsburgh pa area and have been have been looking for a sideline to help with income & have been wanting to go into scraping, I have been watching the Iscrape channel and that’s how I found out about you, I love your videos and I’m learning a lot, rt now I just have a 2011 f150 like yours and a 1 car garage to work out of , I’m forced into retirement and will be 70 in December. Thank you so much that thumbs up makes all the difference in the world at 100 thumbs up with 2000 views gives me about a 5% ratio that’s not very good I was hoping to do better
My scrap yard in NJ pays .99 cents a pound with the newer electronic ballast there is not as much copper as before but if you can save them up it’s still money. I enjoy watching both your channels

Hello Grandpa. I get lightfixtures from time to time but they don't have the ballast like you do,, here it's more of a transformer. Older lights they are welded but the newer ones are just laminated steel with a copper coil. I did get a modern lughfixture a few years ago and it just had a circuitboard in it.
I can kind of picture it in my mind but very difficult to figure out I’ve never heard of that kind of light fixture. So I take it that is something in the UK because it’s definitely not United States that I can think of. Even our LED light fixtures have ballast
They do stay separate from Alice but they only get four more cents per pound making it almost not worth it taking the time to remove them. I only got five dollars for all them Balis took me an hour to take them all off so not worth it
Hey brother! I usually knock mine out with a hammer and the scrap yard gives me $1 per ballast. Thanks for the video you sent. Look forward to talking soon!

Scrap steel is nine cents Balis are $.13 but to be honest with you for the time it takes to take it out it’s not worth it. I spent an hour doing that for less than five dollars.
Thanks for stopping by and being a new subscriber I appreciate you I hope you like my contacts and I miss interesting for you. You got that right $.13 a pound and it took me an hour to get them out so I need five dollars for an hour

You started beating the thing apart. Use the tools you mentioned and take them off, clip the wires and then you will have a pile of wire, a pile of ballasts and a pile of light iron or tin shred. Cash each pile in and cha ching, you have a pay day. A little more easy work, just time, and you have cast aluminum and bare bright to add to your separate piles for more money.

Don't some of those have a hidden copper wire running the length of it?
The only copper wire they have is the ones you see me take out of it nothing hitting besides a couple little small pieces at the end

@@ScrappingwithGrandpa they're up a penny to $0.13 / pound here in Albuquerque.

My guess is the Heavy ballasts Are the old style with more copper in them the lighter ones are solid state most likley not much value
