  • Every morning they become agitated because they know it's the time of the day when they're let out of the cage for two hours of flight.

    We let ours out on a daily basis as well and they always go back to the cage. I wish all bird owners would allow their birds to fly around on a daily.

    Glad to know your finch family get 2 hours a day to really stretch their feathers outside the cage!! :)

    My fiches are daily free flighters too. I appreciate bird owners who let their birds out to on a daily basis, especially finch owners who let their finches have their daily free flights and not just be all cramped up in a small cage day in and day out. Its natural for birds to be able to fly which they can't do in a small cage. Nobody would want to be stuck in a small room 24/7, same goes for our pets. They too, don't enjoy being stuck in a small cage with barely enough room to move unless their cage is big enough. But sadly, most people often think "small animal = small cage" instead of researching how much space an animal actually need. So thank you for letting your finches out to fly, I can tell it makes them happy.

      Exactly! Flying birds are happy birds & happy birds are healthy birds 💯👍☺️✨

      Agree, but the cage manufacturers don't give us the proper cages on the market and someone new to all this reads information that suggests finches only need 30" of horizonal flying space in a cage .....

      @seb673  7 років тому +1

      Morgan Blood you need to separate them. Females fight a lot. Just a pair. Otherwise they'll pick on each other. Even on their hatchlings

    Are they tame? I'vs heard that finches are very scared. How do you get you finches back into their cage? It's good that they get out of cage time.

    I wish I could let mine out! Too many hard surfaces to bomk against. Do you consider these white orbpied? I have a female like this on eggs (male is normal zebra) but she is skittish and wants to keep building nest on top of eggs.
