Hi, Cat! Oh...I'm in! At the moment, I carry a Petite Journal by Nakabayashi. I use it to keep me organized on the go. I tried using a notes app on my phone, but I hated looking at my phone and really prefer pencil and paper. I keep lists of books and authors I want to read, notes on places or things I want to research, day trip ideas, names of people that I don't see often, but don't want to forget (remember, I'm old), lists of facts that I may use or need at some distant time, notes about what I need to tell my doctor at my next appointment, quotes I want to remember and definitions or formulas that are important to me. Really, anything I want to remember or may need some time in the future, I put in the Petite Journal. Basically, it's a collection of lists and I use it constantly. I purchased the notebook at my favorite local store, Paper Place, in Austin, Texas. I hope you find your pocket notebook as helpful as mine is to me. P.S. I also LOVE Field Notes. They are a bit larger of a pocket notebook, but I love them because I can get them with dot grid paper! Happy list making!!
I use a pocket notebook. I don’t call it planning. I just call it my list book. I don’t put dates. I just put my grocery list, shopping list, cleaning list, to do lists. I’m like you in the sense I love to write “anything”. 😁 Yes, ever since I was a little kid. Now I’m 71.
I always have to write - especially when commuting and so this is a great idea for me. I constantly write my goals and aspirations or simple what I have to do over and over 😅❤😊
I have a smaller notebook in my car and a fieldnotes notebook I use for work when I meet tenants and visit properties to write things down that need to be fixed, general observations, future projects, etc. It does help me to remember things but I'm not great about going back through it and checking things off. So I'm trying to add it to a list of standard list of weekly to dos so that the things I write down there actually get done and don't come back to get me later in the form of complaints or the issue becomes a larger or more costly problem. Oh and i'm a fellow procrastinator too and I'm trying to be better about breaking things down and getting them done earlier.
So many times I'd pick up the phone to do something and end up doing something else because of a notification or go to a site for something and get distracted. I've decided to do more on paper because of it. Plus I want to cut back on phone time.
BTW, I am fine and like the moments of your hands since it is faceless videos- you can not and won't please us all. Keep shining beautiful friend #positive One love and blessings 🙏
Hi Cat - I’m in! Especially love the TWG idea. The plan I have been going for is okay but I think using a mini notebook and writing will be so much better for accountability. Thanks for sharing yourself with us.
Another fabulous video. I actually use a 5x8 notebook in conjunction with my planner for much the same reasons that you mentioned in your video. I have somehow amassed a small collection of them and I love when I fill up a notebook and I get to go to my drawer and select a new pretty notebook. I also enjoy decorating the notebook with stickers and doodles and it's just a system I've embraced for the past few years. Glad to see it works for you as well.
Been thinking about going back to paper for the very reasons you mentioned in this video! I’m also a major procrastinator and don’t tend to do things unless I write things down. 😂
I'm in!! In fact, I think my brain has been trying to make me do this with my ever growing collection of sticky notes, notes I thought were sticky, but found out they weren't so now I'm looking for some tape, old planner pages, a page out of an almost empty notebook, or a scrap of a paper bag (what am I 97 ?? Is it 1972???) I'm so in!!
I carry two in my Hobonichi weeks Galen leather cover inside pocket. One junk pocket notebook is for a work brain dump and one is for personal. I don't want to be reminded of work when I'm off and when I'm flipping to the page I get distracted by the work stuff and I'm trying to keep those worlds as separate as possible when I can. I love making my junk journals on graft paper.
Hi!!😊 Of course I’m in!!😆 I actually just watched a video the other day about a guy sharing his experiences of digital vs analog, the apps he used and why he found the analog more beneficial. I found his points very interesting. Right now I use the notes pages in the back of my planner in a similar manner. I definitely get caught scrolling, what I’ve noticed is my brain finds the reels on insta to be such a fast and effective way at relaxing, so when I can snag a few minutes, I scroll. The problem is I sit down on my bed and a few minutes turns into half an hour. I’m trying to get better about it but also trying to be understanding with myself as well as figuring out ways I can relax in a more healthful way. I’m probably going to start journaling more soon too, in a different way and I’m looking forward to it. I was wondering if you had any plans to use any stickers or anything in your notebook or just pen or if you’re just going to see where the notebook takes you? I was also wondering, you mentioned you had some verses you wanted to focus on/journal and I know it’s not your usual content and I would never ask you to share super personal things, but is there any way you could give an example on how you use your notebook to focus on a verse, like a made up pretend example? I love pocket notebooks, I think they’re so cute and incredibly convenient and helpful! I love writing and being in a notebook, I’d love to replace scrolling with that, the problem is I never seem to know what to write or do in those moments. I’d love to doodle but I struggle thinking of what to doodle too!😂 Thank you so much, I truly enjoyed this video and I’m excited to see where the pocket notebook journey takes us!!❤❤❤
That’s so cool! I’ll have to check it out. Thank you for your wonderful comment! I will be doing that soon when I do an update on how I use the notebook. Stay tuned!
Hi! I keep pocket notebooks & they really help! Enjoyed your video. Where did you find the 4x6 mini compo book? I love composition notebooks but haven’t seen the pocket size.
I need todo this. Since menopause my brain fog and adhd is out of control. I need to write things down as well
I hear you on that! If I don’t write it down, I’ll forget!
Samsies!
When I was a teacher I used to procrastinate alllllll the time! Especially when it came to calling parents- my least favorite part of the job.
Ugh! I know what you mean🤦🏾♀️😊

That’s a great strategy my friend! 😊🥰
I look forward to seeing how you use it. My husband bought a 3 pack a while ago and has been using to write what he has to do. It's helped him.
That’s wonderful!😊
I’m not a pocket girl but I have seen them work very successfully for other people. Great video
I hear ya Sis! Def not for everyone. I had to learn to use it😊
So many times I'd pick up the phone to do something and end up doing something else because of a notification or go to a site for something and get distracted. I've decided to do more on paper because of it. Plus I want to cut back on phone time.
Me too! I went through the same thing before I started using a pocket mini. Really helps me to stay present 😊
Hello again Cat keep up the great work, checking in and supporting. 😊🙏

I’m looking forward to seeing how you use this. I think I could use this size notebook as an edc.
Stay tuned! Updates to come my friend!😊
How would you recommend a student to journal for school?
I would pick up a notebook from the dollar store, grab your favorite pencil or pen and just start writing! 😊
Forgot what day it was until I saw your notification. Hope you are having a good Thursday Cat
Thanks you too!!😊

Can I write that small
I know I can’t but I’m not going to be defined by lines lol! That’s the beauty of this you can do what you want!😊
