No, you just need to study the material. It is already out there. This man blows up a snapshot of history. This story needs to be told allot more nuanced. He talks about the jhizia as if it was a type of protection money, while many experienced it as racketeering and a way to be reminded of their second class citizenship.
@Jamal jamshaid i simply make studies out of stuff I hear, read, see. So Islamic Iberian Peninsula is a good place to start even on youtube. The Muslims were in the Iberian peninsula for almost 800 years. I do not have specific sources for the vikings in the iberian peninsula, but from what I personally looked at, this story is a bit blown up for the promotion of a religion. I might look into it later, because Ilike history. If I find something interesting I willlet you know. Staying objective in history is hard enough. So when I see someone talking almost a bit casual to promote a religion, my hairs start to stand up. It's like having an agenda. A religion should so good that it allone should inspire a person to the highest self integrity possible. It doesn't matter what brand of religion. So to bring history in it in such a way is not exactly okay.

The 13th Warrior staring Antonio Banderas is based on a true story about Muslims (Ibn Fadlan) meeting the Vikings and fighting together. Probably one of the best films I have seen. I would highly recommend it.

It is based off a Michael Crichton novel, eaters of the dead, in turn based off a piece of historical writing by an Arab historian called Ahmed ibn Fadlan. The novel is a reimagining of the epic of Bewoulf from a grounded and realistic point of view. Truly fascinating.

This is history not just Muslim history, problem is we have been shown or taught censored versions of history.
Another beautiful glimpse of Islamic history. This is totally strange to me. I have read and taught about Vikings to my year 5 and 6 students, but never linked to Islam-this aspect of their history is totally wiped off European books.

The risala (account) of 10th Century Muslim traveler Ahmad ibn Fadlan is one of the most detailed on Viking life that historians have at their disposal.
OMG, Ahmed ibn Fadlan is the same character from the movie “the 13th warrior” the Arabs used the term North Men (just like the speaker said) Its such an awakening for me that the guy in the movie was based of of real character named Ahmed ibn Fadlan 🤯 this makes so much sense.

The account of the defeat of the vikings is documented by the Muslim historians of the 9th century, such as Ibn al-Qutiyyah in his book Tarikh Iftitah al-Andalus. Then by later ones such as Ibn -Adhari in the 13th century and an-Nuwayri in the 14th century. The vikings arrived from Noirmoutier in Francia which they had occupied and from which they launched raids South from 799-890.

Brother, how many history books have you read? I went to school in England, they never really mentioned the middleages, a period I like, I had to find those books myself, there are plenty out there.
Muslims have no interest in history and reading. They only read the quran, over and over, and believe anything the local imam in the madrassa tells them.

One adjustment to this explanation; Europe was an impoverished place when the Muslim came to the iberian peninsula in Spain n Portugal..the Muslims developed the Iberian peninsula. The history is there to read. What happened is Catholic Europe wanted these riches that were developed by the Muslims through trade.

It was always known that Vikings have been raiding the coastlines of Morocco, I remember looking at books about Vikings as a youngster, and texts that told about the riches they took back home. I didn't know about the great battle he spoke about however, I would love some sources and read about this myself, if it really happened.

@@squidward2553 Scandinavia belongs to native Sami people and not Vikings. Vikings were settlers from Caucasus and settled down on the south parts of Norway, Sweden. And all Germanic languages originated from Caucasus. Also, the oldest Viking "tracks" were found in Caucasus Mountains between Georgia and Chechnya, not Scandinavia.

Actually I'm Swedish and the Vikings started exploring to expand their territory and land ownership. The raids started off as plundering the soft targets like monasteries where there was no defense, but later evolved into conquering territories for land.

Although it was AbdurRahman the Second in 844 CE and not AbdurRahman the Third as stated in this video. The account of the defeat of the vikings is documented by the Muslim historians of the 9th century, such as Ibn al-Qutiyyah in his book Tarikh Iftitah al-Andalus. Then by later ones such as Ibn -Adhari in the 13th century and an-Nuwayri in the 14th century. The vikings arrived from Noirmoutier in Francia which they had occupied and from which they launched raids South from 799-890.
