@@ILwarntech bet! lol I was at Niles 1003 last month and it rumbled everything when it wound down…still was nowhere NEAR as loud as the PN-20 I heard the month before as that shook the ground from 250 feet and was unbearably loud even at a distance

Well technically not a waste as bolts are shitty sirens as they require lots of maintenance, tend to break down a lot, and they have no battery backup as they’re AC only ofc sooo…WOMP WOMP
@@SirensAndAlarmsOfNorthernIL This information is quite false... Thunderbolts are incredibly reliable Sirens. Just making repairs is what is a pain in the ass. Albeit parts aren't available as they used to be, but it can be managed.
@@CentralALSirens well still doesn’t really mean they’re good imo…at least not these days when much better sirens exist like the Equinox and 508. The fact they’re a pain to maintain is already bad enough that towns would wanna replace them. That’s exactly what happened to Glenview, IL. Bc most parts aren’t available and one of the bolts kept breaking down repeatedly, Braniff was like “yeah we had enough of this shit, time to convince them to replace this outdated system”
