This aged beautifully, Rice, Odegard, Zinchenko, and White were they even playing? Spurs bossed the midfield battle and the defenders were far superior. They didn't allow Arsenal a single goal bar a Romero mistake for an OG.
Watching this after the fact and udogie clearly is better and you can make a case that ode was nowhere to be seen so may as well have kept biss in with madders and rice. Also Vic showed he was the better keeper. I’d even say pedro played better than white…..kinda funny how flav was right.

@@Duval-In-The-Wall I agree, but form isnt just "7 games in". Otherwise, a player form would be changing after every match. I see form as more of a half season basis. Ramsdale was keeping arsenal title hopes alive at the end of last season.
Ramsdale and Raya are very similar goalkeepers with comparable strengths and weaknesses. It does not make sense to change keepers depending on the opposition. At this point in time, Raya is the better keeper.
I reckon Arteta acknowledges that Raya is the keeper moving forward for Arsenal , the whole 'change keepers depending on the opposition' is a lie from the manager. I think Ramsdale will be gone by next year if Raya keeps performing and in my opinion, rightly so. Ramsdale is not a greaet shot stopper.

Arteta doesn’t want to come out to the press and say “yea I dropped Rammy cause Raya is clear” because a lot of our fans (like Theo) would freak out and it’d create a divide between club and fans. He’s saying this now to give the fan base time to see the success Raya is going to bring, and eventually they’ll warm up to him.

I'm a Spurs fan and while I think Arsenal have a better squad than ours, I'd say that there are like 4 players in the Spurs starting XI that could absolutely get in the combined XI. Romero, Bissouma, Maddison, and Son and on their day players like Porro, Udogie and Vicario can be better than White, Zinchencko and Ramsdale/Raya. Arsenals squad is very good though and they have a lot more quality in depth than we do. Now it's time for them to actually but that quality on display and actually win something though

Partey is better than bissouma and Odegaard is better than Maddison all day and for Romero performing good in the world cup doesn't mean he is better than Gabriel . Gabriel consistently performed for a title challenging team whereas Romero was getting red cards .

Raya - Udogie, Romero, Saliba, White - Rice, Bissouma, Odegaard - Son, Saka, Jesus
You can only argue Odegaard/Maddison but I think it's too early to put Madders in there.
See from my perspective this isn’t too bad.
I’d argue Van de Ven for White or Saliba. He’s probably been one of Tottenham’s best and most underrated players.
Drop rice and bring in madders. Bissouma is enough 6 for any team and far outstrips rice when you look at how they have each performed this season. The stats speak for themselves.
I also think Kulu has better production than Jesus though I do like him. Martinelli beats em if he’s fit.

Arsenal fans are in denial about the goalkeeper situation, they keep making it out to be a positive thing when it’s not. A manager only has 2 keepers fighting as equals when the first keeper (Ramsdale in this case) wasn’t good enough. None of the best keepers in the world have to fight for their spot.
There's no denial here, there's a first time for everything n it's working fine. It's not our fault we have 2 good keepers and some teams don't even have 1 good goalie
Other fans need a reality check since when is signing another great player a bad thing.. it's so stupid. We have 2 great keepers whether arteta is trying to rotate or is replacing the other is irrelevant this is win/win.
I mean, it’s a 3m loan deal with a relatively cheap option to buy. It’s not like we broke the bank to sign Raya. And if we do sign him next summer and sell ramsdale it should be nice profit. I’m sure we’ll see rotation and both getting decent match time. I could see arteta using raya primarily in PL+CL and ramsdale for domestic cup competitions. I really don’t see it as a huge issue the media just needs something to chatter about.

Get your facts straight, Raya agreed to join Tottenham but Brentford demanded too much and the Spurs went another way. Brentford’s bluff failed and nobody elsed showed interest so they ended up selling Raya last minute to Arsenal for less to than what the Spurs offered.

Raya wanted to join Spurs but Brentford had an unrealistic price so Spurs went for Vicario who was the best keeper in Serie A last season.

The next player from Spurs that I'd argue deserves a spot on the team is Son, and the player to drop is either Martinelli or Jesus. Of the two, I am leaning more towards dropping Jesus.

In comparison, Son averages about 19 goals a season across all competitions, breaking the 20 mark four times.
If you were to remove the stats from their first season, in which they both scored less than 10 goals, Jesus' three most recent seasons has seen him managed less than 15 goals across all competitions. Son, on the other hand, scored less than 18 for the first time last season (14)
Udogie is better than Zinchenko and Romero is better than Gabriel
