    Have you ever faced the Australian sun?

    • @bakica_vangica

      I live in Sydney, Australia and use this product along with their other SPF products! They are SUCH good SPFs (and expensive 🤣)! The "serum" SPF is more so just a marketing/gimmick thing but the one you have just reviewed as well their mineral SPF options are too good! I just found out about your channel and absolutely LOVE IT! Will recommend to my friends. ✅

    Hallo Dr. Ann love your video. Is this product suitable for the eye area? If not can you recommend an option? Thanks

    • @DoctorAnne
      @DoctorAnne  3 роки тому +2

      That depends on your eyes - there is nothing inside that makes it not suitable, but some people react with irritation to certain sunscreen filters. I had no issue with this one though.

    Thank you for this. I am always tempted by new moisturising sunscreens but as I am now retired I have to consider the price so will stick with AS and look out for special offers to try it.

    I really like this sunscreen for my oily and dehydrated skin, but I use it in the same way as you - more as a moisturiser on days when I won’t be outside lots. Heard about it from Michelle at LabMuffin too!

    since summer is here, i wonder about your opinion on germans getting "tanned" -mostly getting burned and red- i still can't believe it

    • @DoctorAnne
      @DoctorAnne  3 роки тому +4

      Well, I grew up that way and still prefer my face if I have a “healthy tan” (putting this in quotation marks as it is of course never healthy). I rely on sunless tanner and bronzer now, but still find others more attractive when they are tanned - I guess it is ingrained so deeply, it is hard to let go of.
      We also grew up (and I hear it very often still) that it is first red, then tanned - the way to go for European skin. Things are changing very slowly, even for people like my mother that have me constantly telling her to put on some SPF.
      I hope my childrens generation will be wiser.

      @@DoctorAnne that’s really weird for me because since my childhood even tho i didnt wear spf 365 days, i was always careful about not getting tanned/burned because i am a bit allergic to sun 😅 but thanks for your point of view 🙏🏻

    • @DoctorAnne
      @DoctorAnne  3 роки тому +2

      @@eafafeayd Even though I am allergic to the sun too I would sit outside the first time the sun was warm enough, all bundled up, holding my face to the sun for as long as possible. It would turn red, I would get itchy hives on my neck, but a slight tan - for me that was worth it. I wish I had known then what I know now, my skin would have way less hyperpigmentation.

    Yikes, sold out already on Cult. But ya, the cost, ouch!! 1/3 cup is $49 on their site. You get free shipping if you spend $50 though, which is just rude 🙄🙄 imo !! Tho many vendors do the same thing. The formulation & not needing to reapply is a huge selling point. I end up using 3 different sunscreens at the moment! Thanks!!! Love your sunscreen videos!!

    The word "hydrating" in sunscreen descriptions worries me because I expect it to be an excuse for an awful, greasy finish. I have a serum with 10% kakadu-plum extract and it smells terrible
    The worst heat I have experienced is Brussels during a heat wave. I think the top temperature was 43 or 46°C. It was absolutely horrible since it is an inland city with no coastal breeze. Fortunately, the hotel had air conditioning

    • @DoctorAnne
      @DoctorAnne  3 роки тому +2

      Northern European houses are not designed to withstand the heat, most of them are build to keep the warmth in - I bet that will change over the coming years…

      @@DoctorAnne Brussels also had a major lack of vegan/vegetarian restaurants and seemingly a really bad homelessness crisis. It was pretty surprising to me. Definitely not a similar experience in Paris, Berlin, or Amsterdam. My favourite european (continent) city is probably Edinburgh. @@DoctorAnne I found a sunscreen that I recommend more than the Eucerin one. It is Nivea's shine control mattifying effect SPF 50. It is the same parent company and the formula looks almost exactly the same besides extra european filters in the Nivea. I would say it is slightly less drying than the Eucerin. The negative would be fragrance. It has like linalool, geraniol, and parfum. My worry with fragrance is just that some of them make breathing hurt for me but products with fragrance will never get the same traction online. I think if you want a sunscreen finish like the Korean ones that failed the consumer tests, this is the way to go - almost half the price of eucerin too
