Infinite gratitude for the information. Not many people are hip to Tamarind so no surprise not many people viewed/liked. Keep up the amazing work. The real ones see you!
I have 2 tamarind plants growing now. It took them forever to sprout, I almost gave up on them. I planted 5 more today using your technique. It will interesting to see if they sprout faster. Thanks for the video. I like your chill Montana voice. 👍
@@mountaingardening The first sprout is visible pushing its way to the surface after 10 days 😀 Quite an improvement from the first ones I planted. They took about 2 months. Thanks again.
Leave it in the water for a few minutes until you see it peel. The longer you leave it the more it should peel. Thanks for the feedback. And thank you for watching!
i threw a tamarind seed in a pot and forgot about it, months later a “random” plant starts growing i had no idea what kind of plant it was. Today set plant is almost 2 meters long and i just find out is THE FREAKING TAMARIND jajajajajajajaja
My interest in bonsai started me on the path to gardening and growing food. We still have a few trees. Thank you so much for sharing your success! And thank you for your support!
So I added water when I first planted them. You don’t want to water them again until they start to break the surface of the soil. They seem to not like a lot of water.
I’m not totally sure what candy version you are talking about. But tamarind is very hardy so as long as the candy hasn’t been heated super hot I would say yes. Even if it does get super heated they still may grow. So give it a shot and let us know! Good question!
Sorry about that. We continue to learn how to better record our videos. Thanks for the feedback. We’ll try to fix that with future videos. Thanks for watching!

Tamarind is one of our favorite trees so we love to grow it from seed. Thank you for your comment and thank you for seeing us!
I found a seed in a Mexican candy and just put it in dirt and kept waiting and after a year I have a tiny tree. The leaves close at night. So cool.
The leaves are really cool! Our method will help fast track that year wait. Thank you so much for supporting our little channel!
Whats the name of the candy ? Is it picarindo or tamarico ?
@@rebeccaramjohn1920 i don't remember but its a blob of tamarindo candy in a white plastic spoon in cellophane.
I use this for a lovely traditional Filipino soup. So grateful for your video.
Thank you for watching!
Thanks!! Very pedagogical and easy to follow. Fingers crossed my seeds will sprout now 🤞

Good to hear and you’re welcome!
Mine took 3 weeks to sprout just one out of 5. But, it's one more than I had yesterday.
Great video I’m trying your method right now brotha!
Didn’t catch how long to sit in the hot water? Great and clear teaching though nice work.

Great Video! Thanks Please do the updates!
Nice ….Thank you….

Does the water from the kettle work? And can i wet a tissue then wrap another one on it and then put it in a plastic bag?
After you put them in hot water, can you wet a piece of paper towel, put the seeds inside that, and then put that in a plastic bag to germinate?
I’m sure you could. We’ve had really good results with this technique so we haven’t tried any other way.
How long were they in the water
About 5 min each time.
Hi, im from Italy, i have some 1year tamarind plant, can you suggest me some trick to get fast the growing?
Full sun will help a lot. But tamarinds are fairly slow growers and need time.
I have a 510 days old tamarind plant which is 28 cms long . It was trimmed last month and has grown Back better and busier. It for a bonsai.

I've tried and tried and tried many times many years, and those things always were rotten in no time... I hope that works...😊
We have had great success with this method. You can as well!
I have a few seedlings that I planted in a 5" pot, when should I transfer it to individual pots as there are four in one pot now
Once you see the roots start filling the pot. That may mean you need to take them out to see the roots so be careful.
Did you soak them in warm water or hot water?
Hot water off of the stove. It takes a couple of minutes for them to peal. So have patience. Thanks for the support!
Is he boiled the seed through oven or put the hot water?
We heated the water on the stove top.
@@mountaingardening the seeds will not destroy after heat it?
Did you ever add water after putting them in ?
So I added water when I first planted them. You don’t want to water them again until they start to break the surface of the soil. They seem to not like a lot of water.
Will this method help?
It does help them start growing faster. It gives them a jump start. Thanks for watching.
What soil do I need to get
We used store bought potting soil for houseplants. I’m sure compost would do great as well.
Can I use the seeds from the dried candy version

It's the sugar coated sweet and sour flavored dried version it's bought at all Asian groceries store.
I’m going to have to find some and try growing it. Thanks for the idea! And thanks for watching!
does this work with much larger seeds
It has worked for any tamarind tree seeds I have planted. Thanks for supporting us!
Yes, boil the seeds as this is how they germinate in nature.
Lol thanks for Being that person. Made me laugh
@@BreKali if you take a piece of sandpaper and rough up the surface of the seeds a little they'll absorb water better and germinate sooner though.
Volume to low on the tambrin video.
