you should make this kind of video for popular builds like for example ox armor prod smacker, widow mother demon set (poison build), unarmed build and etc, would be really interesting to know about complete builds instead of just weapons without any effects or accessories.
Yes please make a build and weapon list. Like best armor with widow dagger with best upgrade with weaponvrs best armor and upgrades for other weapons. The ultimate teir list
This is good way to actually show which weapons are good. If you aren't testing it vs the individual enemies what's the best how does that have value. But you did that so it's good. I believe the termite axe is so strong because of the swing animations being extremely quick along with decent base damage more than the spear.
I'm so glad with how this video turned out! I kept trying to convince my friends that one of the best playstyles in the game had to be carrying 2 or 3 different termite axes with different upgrade paths. It saves inventory slots by being a solid weapon against nearly any enemy whilst also being a tool that you're going to carry anyway. My bedroom wall always has a salty, spicy, minty, and mighty termite axe. I simply carry 2 or 3 depending on where I'm going. Termites? No problem! Salty termite axe! Grab some jerky on the way home. Spiders? No biggie. Grab that spicy axe and get a few roasts on the way as well. Ladybugs and moths? Grab that minty one and go to town. Best weapon in the game for my money : )
Good choice considering stamina usage too. Would maybe consider a toenail scimitar for a couple of elements though, plus nice to have a variety in damage types and not just chopping
Love this series and though I don't think it tells the whole story of each weapon I think this is a great baseline. What I mean by the whole story is that different builds yields different results. Playing in a multiplayer environment I tended to play as a tank with counting on my wife to do the DPS, she either used the Club of the MD or fired the ox bow. I rocked a Roly Poly armor for the threat and a shield with 1h weapons, I usually switched between a slasher, piercer, and buster depending on the enemy. I favored the Toenail (thanks to you) and put spicy on it because it's an awesome spider killer, does pretty well against Mosquitoes too( not to mention cooked food yum). Buster I favored the Salt Morning Star. I also carried around a spicy staff but that was mostly used for an opening attack against wolf spiders and scarabs. I wouldn't mind to see this list published on a shared site like google sheets and there we can see which weapon/element combo did the best per enemy. Anyway, great job as usual EDIT - I forgot to mention I discovered how powerful the termite ax is by accident. When I first got to T3 my weapon broke so I swapped to the ax and was amazed how fast I killed things with it despite it not even being upgraded!
Yeah of course different builds will make certain weapons a lot better. I have all of the results in google sheets maybe I could share them. But you can see them at the end of the video too
@@Paraly5er I know you put a lot of hard work in making this list. If you don't want to publish this list A good video idea would be talking about each hard enemy and saying what the top three weapons against them are. You already have the data
I will do another with the ranged weapons including throwing the spear and compare them to the data gathered so far. I may then do some sort of "ranking builds" series
I recall an old redit post about woah mode being too hard. Boiled down to that the armor and defense on bugs were so high that almost every weapon simply did its minimum allowed. Most t1 and t2 weapons even fully upgraded did the same damage as level one. The one weapon that stood out was the mighty rusty spear. If I recall, it was the only weapon that could hit every insect on woah mode and not default to the minimum damage. Thats probably why it did so well in this test.
The tiger mosquito rapier should do more damage tiger. Mosquitoes are such a pain and it’s annoying that all they’re good for is a healing item and their weapon is basically useless.
After 400 hours and a few playthrough, my best setup was lvl7 spicy termite axe, lvl 9 mighty Scimitar, lvl 9 mighty rusty spear and lvl 8 mighty crossbow. All gear sleek lvl 9, Broodmother helmet, assassin chest and fire ant legs.
I think the rusty spear is the best weapon to kill the black widow with. It’s infection bonus makes the black widow’s 5 hit combo easier to perfect block.
You should compare the gold medals from every ranking so we can tell which is the best weapon against each enemy. The only problem is that this wouldn't take mutations into account
feels like some weapons ar much better if they have the corresponding mutation with them. do you have a video where you compare them that way? daggers for instance with the bleed damage included...
I did not no as the problem is if you use assassin for daggers then you would have to use barbarian for clubs but no one uses barbarian for clubs and you get stuck in a rabbit hole of the best mutations to use and rng from coup de grass and all that
The termite axe is so underrated... It's actually pretty good. I did not expect it to be that good. Really nice video. I'm sure it helped out a lot of people. Keep up the good work!
Do we know for certain if bleed and poison stack? Cause I always run black widow armor with the poison buff, black widow dagger, and I have assassin for bleed with daggers. Trying to make sure I’m not wasting perk slots.
Yeah they do, different poison weapons stack too. So if you get a hit with the spider fang dagger then switch to the widow dagger the target will be double poisoned
Will there be a Video comparing all the different Mighty, Spicy, Fresh, Salty and Sour Weapons to see wich is best against wich enemy. That would be very intersting to see. Still even without that.. Very nice Series so far
Thanks! I'm pretty sure the elemental weapon would win on every occasion as the increase is larger than the increase caused by having the weapon mighty.
@@Paraly5er I've been using the mosquito rapier as an off hand for a multiplayer ranged build I was trying, and I have to say, this test sells it short. While it doesn't deal high damage, and would not be my first choice for a single target fight, where it truly shines is in crowds of small enemies. Since blocking or parrying becomes much more difficult when surrounded, it can be a better option to simply stab away and whittle them down. The rapier has the same fast attack animations as the spear and the same reach, allowing you to proc lifesteal easily from multiple enemies and proc additional effects on multiple enemies as well. Because it's a sword, you can throw on blademaster for 30% damage reduction and infinite stamina. Because it's a fast weapon, you can throw on Broodmother Helm to proc aoe poison, or termite chest for even more damage reduction, or both. It also randomly has stun damage, which stacks up very quickly because of the rapid attacks, occasionally providing even more damage reduction. Will it kill a single target quickly? No, not at all, it's horrible. But I'd argue it's probably the best way of dealing with a crowd of ants, larva, or termites before you get the spicy staff. With all the damage reduction, lifesteal, and stamina, you can group everything up safely and let the MotMD do its job.
@@Paraly5er I just did some testing on normal difficulty. Any difference from this would matter MORE on Whoa! Mode. I did testing with level 6 Mighty Scythe of Blossoms and level 6 Mighty Club of the Mother Demon against level 7 Candy-upgraded versions of the same weapons. I did this so that each weapon would have the same amount of extra base damage (35%) from its upgrades. The Mighty Scythe killed Mosquitos in 5 swings, while the Sour Scythe took 6. This is because the Sour element *replaces* the Slashing damage type, which Mosquitos are weak to. The Mighty Scythe took 5 combos to kill Termite Workers, and 8 to kill Termite Soldiers. The Sour Scythe only took 3 and 4 respectively. This is because it loses its Slashing damage type that Termites are resistant to. The Salty Club of the Mother Demon kills Wolf Spiders in 3 combos, but the Mighty one takes 6. Generic weapons lose their generic damage type when upgraded down a candy path.
@@Paraly5er I am not sure if it's intentional but I think how it was explained was that the clubs' generic and the Scythe's slashing are considered the weapons' second damage type in the code. A second damage type doesn't exist on most weapons until they get that candy infusion upgrade at level 6. But in the few cases that second damage type "slot" is replaced by the candy damage type instead of the weapon gaining a second or third damage type. I don't think there is a way to replace either damage type on The Sour Battleaxe or Spicy Coaltana.
