Dave Snowden divides his time between two roles: founder Chief Scientific Officer of Cognitive
Edge and the founder and Director of the Centre for Applied Complexity at the University of
Wales. His work is international in nature and covers government and industry looking at complex
issues relating to strategy, organisational decision making and decision making. He has pioneered
a science based approach to organisations drawing on anthropology, neuroscience and complex
adaptive systems theory. He is a popular and passionate keynote speaker on a range of subjects,
and is well known for his pragmatic cynicism and iconoclastic style.

This is so brilliant stuff. I just love Dave.
27:39 - Move to the adjacent possible
27:58 - Fitness landscape and employee engagement assessment
39:56 EU Field Guide - Building for resilience - 3 principles - 1-build human sensor networks; 2-build informal networks; 3-exaptation (in place of adaptation)
40:06 Build a human sensor network
40:49 "Things that make me feel nervous" - Weak signal detection
41:09 Build a network for ordinary purposes, that you can activate for extraordinary needs
41:28 2-Informal networks. Information flow between silos; silos exist because they lower energy cost of knowledge sharing based on expertise
26:40 “Frozen II is a great complexity movie”
24:00 power comes from the interpretation of content not the content itself
Does anyone know where to find more about the OS agile project (breaking tools no "small pieces") he mentions?
Breda @ sea ? Lets build a salt march !
I find Snowdon's continuous pot-shots at social science odd. The example given (Lean Start Up) sounds very deterministic and in no way represents the diversity of social science thought and analysis. It leaves out narrative thinking, complexity, etc.
