If you have never heard of Poly-Glaze then you are in for a treat! This is a fun product released by Gina K which adds toner foil to patterned cardstock and, spoiler alert... it's very easy to use. Today I test out this 'new to me' product and also make 2 Cards4Men!!

Gina K has shown in her videos that if you wipe the surface of the poly glaze or toner sheets as well as the back of the foil with a Swiffer sheet or a lint free cloth to get any dust or oil off of them it helps to prevent the specks being left. Also, a setting of 3 is what she suggests. I’ve used those suggestions and it really helps.
Yes, I agree, a swipe probably would have made all the difference, I must get myself some swiffery stuff or a fan brush for the occasion, it's just something I always deem as not important... until I foil lol. It doesn't help that I have a cat that likes to sit on my desk!
Great cards! I like the 2nd card best. I'm loving the poly-glaze sheets. Gina now sells full sheets of poly-glaze to use with leftover foil, and I find that they work much better than the toner sheets.
Hi Allisa, I've been waiting for the Gina K white sheets to come back into stock in Australia so I can try them. I definitely have a love for the toner sheets from Crafty Critta, they are a high quality and great value so it will be good to compare them. I agree, other brands of toner sheets haven't worked well for me either. Crafty hugs, Therese x

I think he did a marvelous job with both cards. I especially liked what you did with the leftovers. Those Lewers really popped off of that background and I really liked how you kept a border around it.

Both of these cards are fantastic!!! I love how you made your own foiled cardstock to diecut some of your lure pieces---so perfect! And the way the K is wonky because it's been hooked---awesome design idea!!!

It's a great set and I can see myself using it again and again... actually I thought about buying the whole collection, but I witheld tempations to the dies... and maybe one other set of the dies lol.
Love them both! My husband loves fishing too and I got the sentiment set to go along with the lures. I really like how you added the shiny parts to the lures - makes them look more realistic! ooh, cold doesn't sound like much fishing is happening right now lol. I wanted the whole collection, but settled for the die sets... so far.
I would recommend using some double sided adhesive to add foil to a piece of regular cardstock, or use a metallic cardstock or even heat emboss some metallic powder onto a piece of card to get a metallic element to the lures. We have so many options, don't we 😁. Hope you have fun creating and stay warm my friend, I can send you just a little heat and humidity if you like! Hugs Therese

Those cards are so cool!! I recently invested in a Minc machine too and it is indeed a game changer over a laminator for toner foiling. I have not used the polyglaze sheets, but I have drawn my own patterns with a glaze pen.
ooh a glaze pen sounds like fun, I have a deco pen and like it but it doesn't do the 'fine' lines... maybe I could try a liquid glue pen? Thank you for your thoughts my friend x

I have use Gina K toner sheets but not the poly glaze. Is there a big difference? As always, your cards are gorgeous. Love both of them.
Are you talking about the white Gina K toner sheets Jeanne? If so these are similar to the Crafty Critta ones that I shared in the video which I used for the left over foil (ps you can use them for left over toner AND hot foil).
Whereas the Poly-Glaze is a product that is specifically used with toner foil (with a laminator). It is an A2 sheet of cardstock with a pattern on it that will adhere the toner foil when fun through a laminator. I then used the left over foil from my Poly-Glaze pattern with the white toner sheets to create the second card. I hope this makes sense, if not let me know. Crafty hugs Jeanne x
Hey, Therese, Everytime I see these toner foil sheets, I wonder two things: (a) if I do not have a laminator - could I do this with an iron? and (b) can I use the Spellbinders hotfoil with the toner sheets or are they different systems? Hope you can help. Kind regards from Germany, Nicola
Hi Nicola, I have not heard of anyone using an 'iron' to apply toner sheets, I don't think there would be enough pressure, because it is the combination of heat and even pressure. And you are right, typically hot foil and toner foil work with different systems and I keep my foils separated so they do not get mixed up accidently, I have had some frustrating moments until I worked out that I grabbed the wrong foil for the wrong machine lol.
