Great! Brilliant! Thank you! I have the same lens and really liked it for macro since it's macro range goes from 180mm to 300mm and as you say gives a combination of good image size and working distance. Then it failed in the same way on my Canon 450D and other Canon's I've tried it on. I don't have an extension tube but will get a set and try your solution. Okay, so some might say it's an old cheap lens, with a bad reputation for failing in this way, forget it and just move on. Actually, I liked its results and it was easy to use and fun to use because of that working distance and reasonable image quality. One other factor I discovered recently is that it is among the Tamron lenses measured and evaluated by DXO and included in their list of lenses corrected by the DXO Optics Pro and Photolab image processing software. Chromatic aberration, vignetting, distortion and to some extent sharpness all gets corrected. So, cheap lens starts to level up with expensive kit. Nice. Thanks very much for this video, hadn't thought of the solution.
Great solution Sir. I just bought a used one 90 mm Tamron and it worked okay on my T5i for a couple of sessions and BAM this error 01 pops out of nowhere. Tamron seems to be at fault here. Anyways, I was trying the workaround of not locking the lens to the full extent of the camera, but the danger of it getting loose while clicking was there. But this one is a good solution. Is there anyway we can service the lens, what is exactly at fault here?
I plan to photograph dragonfly this weekend. You can use the Facebook or website for the British dragonfly society to tell you where and what. Seems you were a bit unlucky not seeing any. Dawn and dusk best times as they are cooled down and very still. Especially at dawn you'll be able to get right up to them.

I've no idea what is at fault, I've had two fail now.
maybe i should try it.. thanks for your solution sir.. because its too long been having this problem on my tamron 😅
Are you suffering quality using the 70-300mm rather than using a prime? Great videos! I subbed, thanks!
Yes I believe so, but I have no choice until I get a prime. Thank you for watching and subbing :)
