I have no need nor reason to ever have to do this but I sat and watched this whole video because I’ve been so fascinated with Trippie’s visualizers lately. Great video yo 👍🏻
DO THIS to get the same setup: Preferences > Guides, Grid & Slices > Set gridline at every 1 pixel and also subdivision 1 pixel and turn on everything Max has to
Ok so can someone help when I go to create the grid it doesn’t show me the pixels it just has these weird off centered lines and I have to crop it larger to get the pixels to appear
you don't need to duplicate the animation precomp layer multiple times. 1) right-click on the precomp layer 2) in the 'time' group select ' enable time remapping' 3) then use the expression 'loopout("cycle")' on the keyed 'time remap' attribute 4) then in the project window change the comp duration to however long you want, and finally, stretch the precomp layer in the timeline as per your need. And voila, you have an infinitely looping animation
@@nonchallant in this case you can put the expression 'loopout("continue")' on 'Shift Centre To' keys in offset effect. PS: there are many videos on YT that can help you better understand the working of loopout and expressions
In case anyone was struggling with adding the grid/guide lines at first, follow the instructions the top comment says, but make sure that the thing next to where you put "every grid line" is set to pixels (or what your canvas is sized in).
SOS lol... I'm having issues bringing up the grid layout. ive clicked everything you showed in this video and still I only get two lines. one going horizontal another going vertical. no grid. Did anyone else experience this problem? If so, how did you fix it?

EXTREMELY helpful tutorial. This is exactly what I was looking for to start creating some assets for my stream. I knew all of this was possible with Adobe products, but I had no idea where to start. Now I do. Bravo!
Thank you so much!! Your video was very well made and easy to understand. I was able to make my own pixel animation with knowing very little knowledge in AE
Hope you guys enjoy the tutorial! Tag me on IG if you make some cool stuff @_maxnovak ! Have a nice weekend and like if you want a part 2 showing some 3D pixel art!!
This video deserves millions of views. Epic tutorial. I definitely subscribed to you and I cant wait to binge on your videos! Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video and share it with us.
To stop the quality ‘crunching’ when scaling with pixels, makes sure you turn change the scaling from Bicubic to Nearest Neighbour. A tip I found from my game design days! Edit: never mind you did it lol
i dont usually comment to any video that i watch but i just wanted to tell you that you inspired me so much with this video and i had to create my own. thank you! it was really helpful and easy to follow. you made it so easy now anyone can be an artist lol
Dumb question/just to be sure! But my setting for "#-Bit" should match the console/game at the time right? So if im making a custom super mario char. it should be set to 16-bit not 8-bit?
Choose Edit > Preferences > Guides & Grid. Under the Guides or Grids area: Choose a preset color, or click the color swatch to choose a custom color. Choose the line style for the grid.
Love this tutorial man, thank you a lot. But at some points you missed out really small detail steps which left me confused about how you got to where you were

@lix -__- Sorry! I have not tried Da Vinci.
thx for that!
Great tip! Do you perhaps know if it is possible to make the background (so in this case, the road and the stars) into an infinite loop aswell?
