I have to agree with 2014. As much as it pains me to say this, my love for the ghost is purely nostalgia. As a kid I loved rebels and getting the ghost meant so much to me and for the longest time it was my biggest set. But now that I’m older and with the new ghost out (one of my favorite sets ever. best sw set of 2023) I can see all the flaws of the old one, and tbh the zeb figure isn’t all that great. I would love to see Lego make an update better looking zeb for the anniversary this year.
22:29 the problem with Rex helmet is there is no answer to proportions other than making it bigger so in order to have the siding proper they comprised the mouth
Fair list for the most part, altough I disagree with 2008. It was based on the CW movie and basically had all the main characters of that movie. Also had a cool build with which you could recreate the scene from the movie where the AT-AT walks up against the wall. For me it's definetly the battlepacks. Seen some people say that the rebel trooper battlepack is one of the greatest battlepacks of all time when I personally thought that was one of my most boring sets as a kid. Also on the Luke's landspeeder I can agree with that it is kind of a waste of a UCS slot, but so I think most people do. So it seems more like you put it there more so for being a "bad" set than it being overrated, because quite frankly I don't see many people speak of it highly. For me it would definetly be the promo for 2022, the Lars Family Homestead Kitchen, which is a pretty random set that does not fit in with anything else we've gotten and people just seem to like just because it has a random minifigure.
Im sorry, but a box of bricks will never be worth 10000 dollars to me. If you pay that much, you are literally insane. Believe me, i love lego and collecting things, but dude, thats too much money.
the 2005 turbo tank doesn't make sense, mace windu was on coruscant while the set is based of kashyyyk in ep 3 and that "commander cody" figure, he was on Utapau
Nah a UCS landspeeder is way more iconic and better than a step or a Barc speeder. Im a big Clonw Wars Fan, it brought me to sw but a Landspeeder is a way better choice
Doesn't a set have to be highly praised to be overrated?? I remember most people complaining about that set not sure how it could be the most overrated lol
Just something to note about cloud city, it only became "overrated" recently. Back in the day, it was SUPER underrated. No one really cared about it or wanted it. Thats exactly why everyone flocks to it now, because it had a relatively short shelf life and very few people bought them
I definitely did not agree with every choice he had but I think he had very good reasoning for every year and I like how he did not have any nostalgia bias with any sets :)
Have to disagree with Rex’s AT-TE. You say that you think “it’s ugly” but that’s exactly what you’re supposed to think. It’s a broken down relic that a bunch of non-mechanics patched up with scraps. Then those same non-mechanics decided t slap a whole bunch of extra sh*t made of more scrap on top of it because they thought it’d be cool. It’s essentially a shop car that was repaired by a bunch of high school boys on a shoestring budget. You’re not supposed to think it looks good; you’re supposed to be impressed that the thing actually moves.
I’d argue Jango Fetts Slave 1 is overrated as the build is just a different colour palette of a ship we’ve had a million times and it’s just the mini figs that make it good, similar to the Watto set. I think any Lego set that needs mini figs to carry it is overrated as Lego should always be about the build first.
Totally agree about the Rex helmet. Rex is one of my absolute favorite characters, so it pains me to criticize the set, but when I do say anything bad about it, I get so much backlash! The set is just bad. His "nose" is one stud too long which made it MASSIVE and ultimately reduced the space necessary to give him a mouth. The fact they thought it was acceptable to release a clone helmet without a mouth blows my mind.
The set rereleases of old sets were done due to financial struggles. They hoped any old popular set would sell well on rerelease. Also I dont know if the Landspeeder counts as *overrated* I've seen most people hate it. The Landspeeder UCS suggestion was typically a meme due to how often lego rereleased the Landspeeder in playscale.
I agree with the 2006 pick 100%. I have the 2006 Star Destroyer, and I love the set but, man, is it flimsy. It has no handle, it breaks all of the time, and as a playset it’s quite frankly terrible for flying around, and the interior is also kind of lackluster
The 2014 Lego Star Destroyer is also so flimsy in my experience, there is at least a handle, but the hull of the ship is so thin that it can break apart way too easily (Like, not the pieces but the hull ALWAYS came apart at the weakest sections after I played with it for more than 5 minutes).
Wasn't 7654 the first set with Super Battle Droids though? Sure regular B1s have been around for years by that time, but I think it was the debut of Super Battle Droids, and you got 3 of them in their first set too!
I luv the ghost but yea it is tooo overpriced, the millennium Falcon cost Like 10$ less and has more space and playability and more figs but the ghost has 2/5 of the amount of space the millennium Falcon has and less figs and cost more I would still buy it but if I had the option of those 2 obv of going for the millennium
The 2019 leans pretty far forward compared to the 2014 which makes it shorter and more hunched and I prefer how the 2014 has a taller and more upright stature
@@fivelonelyclones I personally like the 2019 one more because its less chubby and includes 2 clone and 2 droids, making it even, unlike the 2014 one which has more droids than clones

Good video! I agree with almost everything except for two spots, first the droid battle pack, it's just the perfect battle pack, the builds are usefull, the figs are good, it beeing a droid set doesnt make it bad, the real overrated set of 2007 is the clone battle pack, its just bad, the minifigs are ugly and the clones are fron three different legions, making it very bad for army building, and the other one is the AT-DP, I just dont see why it is worse than the 2014 one.
Yeah I should’ve explained the AT-AP more. Both the models are almost identical however the 2019 model leans forward a lot more than the 2014 model making it look less appealing compared to the 2014 model’s tall and upright stature.
@@fivelonelyclones But that's more accurate, though. The actual AT-AP has that lean and isn't as upright as the 2014 set is. You may prefer the look of the 2014 AT-AP, but it is less accurate to the official design than the 2019 set is.
@@CloneCommanderCrater1102nah it’s more accurate, when I made my ranking every rots set video I spent a lotttt of time comparing both the 2019 and 2014 model to the actual source material and the 2014 is more accurate. @fivelonelyclones The 2019 one is still more movie accurate in the length of the legs, positioning of the toes, and the fact that the legs are a little father back compared to the 2014 version.
I think older LEGO Star Wars "dollhouses" look messy but the more modern ones look much better. I love so many of them. However, old Cloud City is not great looking at all.
