Are people not using box spring mattress anymore? It looks like a mattress on top of a bed frame is all that you need. Just wondering how comfortable that would be?
Most people are using platforms on the frames so a box spring isn’t needed. I don’t feel a difference without the box springs but maybe there’s a difference with thinner mattresses.
Yes I agree with the previous response. Most new beds are platform beds and don't require a box spring. As far as comfort goes, I don't notice any difference. However, depending on the platform bed you choose the matress will either sit right on top or will set into the frame an inch or so. I would recommend the latter. My children's platform beds slide a bit because they sit right on top and they're always tumbling around on them. But mine sets down into the frame just a bit and doesn't move at all.
