Perhaps with a sensor or a timer make it so the ship goes to a middle bouyancy. Since it is based on altitude it should be doable so that it wont float or fall to oblivion.
The CLE's ramp quite a bit, so timing that would be a nightmare and you'll never get it stable on logic.
Fant has an altimeter/heightsensor, also a speed sensor... They are in the same mod as the Gyros and the WASD-Converter.
With that you can set it to start to hover above the void if its falling by inflating the CLE's at a set height or slow it down enough by setting up a max falling speed.
Maybe add another lift engine and have the controls for it be separate and set to give enough lift to keep it out of the abyss but not so much it keeps you from getting to the lower islands.
@@samc.8616 precisely! 4 for neutral bouyancy then 1 on extra controls to go up hook the first 4 into a seat and ground detector to make sure that if seat is empty and no ground it will stay hovering.

I think you should convert the airship to have propeller power and steering instead of thruster power and suspension glitch steering. Or at least swap out the thruster for two propellers. It'll probably be way more efficient, and it'll give more airshippy vibes. Also, I saw someone in one of Kan's videos mention a mod that lets you put crop plots on blocks, I think you should get that and try to go full flying castle, make a bunch more lift engines, and take your entire base into the sky.
The crop plots can’t go on vehicles in that mod sadly.😢

I don’t think you know quite how many resources that would take just for one minute of fight
@@donkey2340 It seems like the chemical lift engines only consume anything when you are changing buoyancy, so it would be easy enough to cancel your weight, and then you could run the propellers on piston engines or controller bearings, so no fuel there either. Changing altitude would be expensive, you'd need to slowly reduce buoyancy to decrease altitude, and then spend a bunch of chemicals to increase it again, but aside from that you could consume little to no resources.
You should build a harbor for your airship. With skywalks, lighthouse, cranes etc

If you also install the rest of the fant mod pack you could turn this series into a new nomad series. Where first you build a real flying base with all the optionnals and then by moving around the map you recover enough resources to create some type of space rocket or similar to "abandon the planet" you would thus have 3 mega objectives: 1 build a flying base, 2 earn enough resources to build a spaceship and 3 build and set up such a vehicle (maybe something massive. where you can also insert food crates to eat on the return journey) (for me, when I played my survival modded, building a spaceship with space for 50 foodcrates and capable of flying was my final goal, in the sense that I managed to escape the planet and survive the survival)

Next upgrade to the airship might be more like an overhaul, adopting a refiner and make it a portable miner/harvester for all the trees and stones across the islands. Would be something to consider if you wanted to build a larger scale base site.
We need more of these episodes! Its been a while, I miss them.

add more features to the airship; suspension landing gear, automatic landing with sensors, make it bigger or/and walkable, put the mountable spudgun on a turret, add more thrust, maybe go full nomad, etc. airship is the way!

I'm watching both. Original survival series and this series. I miss the warehouse runs you did(miss the music too) and the base building.
1- you should put a wind shield so tapebot cant shoot you
2 - look for a really small island and plant your crops on it because i dont think bots can spawn on the soil

Scrap man, please please please, can you eventually evolve the airship into something resembling a Zeppelin, it could be a flying base, and it would be awesome
You should use a propeller for forward and backward thrust! It would use less fuel and allow for reverse. The modpack should have 1.
Hey scrapman, you should make a self-deded ouchie machine on the starter island using a spinning saw so you can easily get back to your vehicle without having to look for bots to do the dedening for you.
You should make a beacon and put some unimportant blocks on it like scrap wood and hit it into the void and see if it just disappears or it gets put on an island
You should put your drill materials in the chest on your airship so you don’t accidentally craft with them
When the next survival update comes out they should make a multiplayer world with a bunch of people

Broccoli and Pineapple take 42 in-game hours (42 irl minutes) to grow. Everything else takes 21 in-game hours. If you can, you should use fertilizer on Broccoli and Pineapple when you plant them (even before watering) since it halves the grow time.
This might need to wait for a couple of episodes but I really want to see a really cool base maybe even connecting a few islands together.
make an airdrop for explosives, like a spot for you to delete blocks to drop either small bombs or large bombs.
Use garment boxes for the farm they have really high durability!
Why don't you jump, then place the toilet and get in before you land? Kinda like the waterbucket from Minecraft.

Weapons on the airship and power the saw blades on your farm. Maybe add a few more saw blades. A crafting chain would be nice.
Hey Scrapman, did you know that leftover seeds can be processed into scrap wood by the craftbot? It means that any seed you don't have a use for can be used to get resources, although not many
you can use unit facer with or without camera to control turrets on your airship
I would love to see a "real" airship a la Nomad Survivor. Like a full-blown blimp with crafting and everything.

Using mounted spud guns to kill a big red farmbot would be a fun goal. Also making an elevator for the airship so you never have to land in hostile territory

I would love to see the airship have more detail! It would be a fun side project, and in detail I mean, maybe encase the balloons and create a little cockpit.

You should use the WASD converters
create a mini cemical collectorship, and then try to make your main ship as large as possible
If you got enough resources you could make a big airship, like an actual boat that flies
you should mount a drill and resource collector on the underside of the airship so you just drop on top of a rock node and mine it
Hey ScrapMan not sure if you know or want to but there is a neat glitch where you cant save on the lift the vehicle with a container or just the container filled with its resource and proceed to take them out and rebuild it on the lift it will essentially duplicate the resource like the chemical, fuel, batteries, and even potatoes , which means you wont have to farm or scavenge for them anymore if you wanted, or at least until its patched.
a really good goal would be a flying farm base and watch all the farmbots fall in the void

Suggestion: WWII anti-air gun-style mounted spud guns on your flyer with a sight, if possible.
The garment boxes you have been collecting are not useless, they are one of if not the most durable item in the game, there durability bar is max bar 1, meaning pretty much no bots can destroy it, as a result you can place them all around your concrete on the farm, the hey bots and tote bots will never break another block, only bot to worry about then is a tape bot. but all other bots will be of no bother, making your farm indestructible, you can also get them from trader for 1 crate of orange I think, so you can easy get loads of them :D might be worth trying out.

Sweet airship! Would you want an altitude sensor to regulate the ballon’s inflation for neutral bouncy? Aka a single button to maintain the current level.
HEY SCRAPMAN a little off topic but, just wanted to mention the mod raft mechanic. ive been playing it and its pretty good. has a basic questline to follow too
You should probably add sensors to detect when you are in the seat and shut down the lift if you aren't in. Otherwise, one of these days it's going to float away without you.
Do a farm bot hunt in the sky Islands and see how much warehouse keys you'll have by the end of the video ?

Try the Unit Facer Mod from Fant and a build a turret that follows your crosshair(if free view is selected) and shoots on leftclick with 1 WASD-Converter...
That way you can shoot while still in your seat xD

You should have at some point a bunch of bomb shooting aircrafts, so you can have a islan battle, where you've bombing buildings around and getting some points
It's amazing, Mr. 00FANT's MOD🤩. I especially love flight-related moving parts, so I layered many propellers (using the Phantom Block Editor tool). I built many airplanes using steam engine🚂 and gyroscopes. Especially the gearbox is recommended.👌

You should use all the random seats you get from chests for the jumping to replace the toilet
Whit all that seeds tou can make fertilizer for the high tier crop that takes more time
Have one baloon always full and two baloos controlled by buttons, that way you increase boyancy without increasing the strength of your button adjustments.

i saw somewhere you could place soil on blocks instead of the ground maybe thats worth trying?
Place the cannon on the flying thingy so yoi can snipe enemies while in the air :) ir will help a lot actually not just facing towards but also facing down. So you can just fly over them stay above and shoot down so bots wont fall from the island. Yea beside spud gun on the flying thingy place a saw under it to protect it from bots :)
I think the airship needs to evolve to sky base
Airship needs a chest to store more fuel ammo and supplies from raiding then spend all of one episode grinding out components.
They should add a bullet/potato count on the top right of the spud gun icon in your hud bar so you know how much ammo u have in your inventory

can you put bearings and a controller on those saw blades? beef up your farm defense a bit? i guess its pretty unnecessary now, maybe put some blades as deterrent on your blimp.
