You're correct! It was the bassist Kim Gordon singing 'Kool Thing', it's Thurston Moore - her husband at the time here - singing on this one. It's wild that this video sums up the entire '90s in 2 minutes. Directed by Spike Jonze as well who'd go on to direct a mass of brilliant music vids and acclaimed films such as 'Her', 'Where The Wild Things Are' and 'Being John Malkovich'. And regarding the guitars - the band are known for creating as much noise and dissonance as possible haha, get used to that!
Well the 3 of them are the singers of the band but in most of their songs the singer is thurston moore (btw he's one of the weirdest and best guitar players i've seen in my life), if you are interested in hearing more of them you should check out "dirty boots" and "the sprawl" (if you do "the sprawl" please react to their live session "from the basement" absolutely amazing and trippy)

Alternative music before "Alt-rock" was a thing. "Bull in the Heather is a great track.
Not really, The Velvet Underground and The Stooges did that 20 years earlier.
This was 92 man, "alternative" was certainly a thing at that point. Hell, Alternative Nation was on MTV
